I guess times have changed and installing a stereo into the CT is a bit outdated.
I just thought I would share an a review of a recent purchase we trialled camping over the weekend. Maybe other swaggers can use the same thread to recommend another brand.
We did a fair amount of research on forums and Reviews before choosing this one.
It is a Logitech UE mini boom box. It connects easily via Bluetooth. It easily connected to my HTC, the Mrs Samsung and two of our friends IPhones.
It recharges via USB, has a battery life of 8 hours ( we used it for over 7 hours each night). I thought it was great, can't recommend a better idea for camping trips or sitting around the bar. I thought it was plenty loud and my friends thought it was great.
$94 at JB HIFI, $94 at Harvey Norman, we got it for $79 at the Good guys.

Great timing. Looking for a new one. Son has a bose one that is unbelievable but big $$$$.
-
will it play the radio from your phone or just stored music? I was going for a car radio but maybe I need one of these instead
-
I have the UE Boom (slightly bigger), these things seriously pump the music! So handy! If you can listen to the radio on your phone / Bluetooth device then this speaker would play. For example if the phone rings it'll come over the speaker until you change the source. I love the range and the fact that you can change songs and volume so easily from your phone.

Yep we have one also. Battery last a long time also. Great sound. Great volume.

I have a Moshi Burger.
It is incredibly small, charges from USB, just plugs into your speaker/earphone outlet (laptop, phone etc). Don't be fooled by its size.
Have used it on Myswag trips and everyone is incredibly surprised by how much sound comes out of one.
And they only cost approx $30-.

I really like the idea of a Bluetooth speaker and have seen a few good ones but not sure on brand. At the moment when camping we use the Ryobi one plus radio (the small version) and you can plug in your phone or MP3 player as well we have the 12v charger so can charge batteries if we need too. The battery usually lasts a whole day and we often just use the radio part. If I get to build my new house I think a Bluetooth speaker to have to take out when we are using the outdoor area would be good

We have the Sony SRS-BTS50. $99
Main reason is I have the sony phone and am a fan of the brand. Plus it is splash proof.
They say 10hr battery but haven't got that far yet.
May have stuffed up but. Not sure if I can get a 12V charger for it. Runs 5V.

x2 Moshi Burger

I bought one from Aldi a week or so ago (little thing about the size of a tennis ball). Reasonable sound and great for camping as it does NOT pump out megawatts to disturb and annoy any other campers!
-
According to Logitech, it has up to 15 meters range, 10 hours of charge and 78dbc of noise.

I bought a JBL Flip for our cape trip and its been an awesome addition to our music, costs a little more, came with great reviews, and the sound is unbelievable.
Defo the way forward for camping.
