Hi all
I am a smidgen off buying a gxl prado manual 2014
I just wanted some input from everyone about which brand ie Arb, tjm to use for mods
will want to do bull bar, winch, suspension etc
I have used arb gear before and was happy (except for rusty bullbar which was fixed)
just want to make sure iam getting the best/right gear and advise

I have had both ARB and TJM bars and happy with both. Warn 9.5 XP winch which has been tweaked by Leslie and Son. Pair of Lightforce driving lights.

Great news About the new ride bet your excited about it.
I use ARB now for most of my 4wd stuff.
It's proven and reliable.
Not the cheapest gear around but at least you know that the quality is there and you won't be let down by it.
I've been stung trying to save a few dollars using other brands and end up buying twice after things don't go the distance.
Why are you getting manual?
Ill also add that if you do have any problems then there are ARB stores all over te place that will help you out to get back on the road or is that off the road

Congrats on the new rig, I have just gone through the same process and went with ARB. A proven system that works well and backed by a large Australia network. If you buy a lot of gear you should be able to get a discount, where are you purchasing your new Prado from?

Mate, jump onto pradopoint.com. There's a massive knowledge base for modifying Prado's, including heaps of build-ups and how-to guides. You'll get the benefit of learning from all the mistakes everyone else has made, as well as seeing how certain bits of kit look when fitted ie. roof racks, bull bars, wheels, tyres, and suspension. Fair warning though, like MySwag, PradoPoint is addictive and you'll find hour upon hour of you spare time gets chewed up as you scroll through the pages. Good luck!

There was a difference in the 120 series but i think the 150 series is now the same as the HR offering
As above you cant go to wrong with ARB bars a safari snorkle is also good as it seems to quieten down a bit of a drone you get at 1500rpm in the prado due to the airbox creating a bit of a reasanonse.
Suspension you may want to have a look around as ARB once again do a good product but if you ar enot doing that much off roading it may be overkill. For example i used Iron man on my 120 series and my 150 series mine work prado and could not complain

I use basically all arb gear now. As others have said it's proven and reliable and fits perfect every time with great fitting instructions if you plan on doing it yourself.
