I have always wanted an old vehicle for a Sunday car. I have no particular brand that I'm loyal to. So after looking for quite awhile, I found a 70 model vg coupe that I liked. Went for a look today and I am now the proud owner of this

The thing is mint. Only the baby 245 hemi & 3 on the tree.
To say that I am excited is an understatement.

Nice,
The VG only came with a 215 or 245 from memory, along with the 318 V8, the VH got the 265.
My departed beast, wish I still hade it.

Got to love the old cars. I'm really getting into Fast & Loud (Gas Monkey Garage) on Foxtel at the moment.
Would really love a 1970 F100 like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/291152606841 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/291152606841)

Had one of them too ;D
Mine was a 69 white one, with sunraysias all round. Cost me $2500. Kept it 3 years whilst building the house. Sold it for $3k. Great truck.

Very nice! My hubby's grandfather had a Chrysler dealership, so he loved them and he'd always make me try to pick the model of every Valiant we passed. Now he does it to our kids.

Nice, i am a tragic too but i have asked my wife (after a few costly restos) to keep an eye on me and if i think about buying another old car to pick up the nearest piece of wood and start beating me around the head if i start getting close to buying one. She so far has excelled at this task and i am starting to wonder what I have unleased. Hmm another nice ej ute would be great or what about a...

Nice car. :D
I always liked the old AP5 Valiant, first took my misses out in one of these, although I borrowed it from my mate.
I have always liked old cars, maybe that is the reason I am still driving a 86 Nissan Patrol. ;D

Thanks for the replies. I do have a bit of family history with Vals. Dad bought a new Regal wagon in 81 one of the last made .265 auto & electric everything. My pop had a Charger back in the day. Nan tells a story of him crashing it in a table drain & that was the last time she rode in it. He was a wild driver as Nan says. And my uncle had a couple of warmed over slants & hemis back in the day. A mate had a vg coupe 20 yrs ago that we put a lot of work into at the time. Ended up being a really nice hardtop. He was a valiant freak &had 17 in his yard at one point. Sent him a piccy of this one today and he is a bit jealous.
Cheers, Mike.

Had to leave it there. Hasn't been on the road in 2 yrs & I didn't want to drive the 6hrs home without some maintenance. So next weekend I'm trailering it home.
Cheers, Mike.
