Title: Kettle that pours
Post by: darrenh on May 01, 2014, 07:42:29 PM
I have the typical 1.5 litre whistling kettle but would like to find one that actually pours properly.
Any suggestions from its hand experience.

Is it just me or does that look allot like the one aldi had a few weeks back?
I picked one up for $5 the other day from their clearance bin. Haven't used it yet but it looks the goods.

Cheers

I have one of these they are great...

They are expensive new but I picked one up on ebay for $40 used.

boils faster than the others/ nice gentle whistle/ has a gate in spout so boiling hot water cannot spew out.
(almost 2 litres )

its a simplex kettle copper and tin lined.

It seems all the other Aldi clearance bins have good things in them except mine.  I think in the bargain thread someone said that their stuff in the past was like primus but not sure about this year.  We just use billy with spout but sometimes would like kettle

Noel,
I think that's the reason for being unsuitable.
I reckon they favour the ones that don't dribble or splash.
They seem to think that a nice neat stream is better.

We use one of the Primus whistlers, as mentioned above, on the gas stove but use on of these on the campfire http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Cooking/25L-Enamel-Kettle (http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Cooking/25L-Enamel-Kettle)

I have a 12 volt Whacko brand jug you can have for free if ya want.

It can used over an open fire too if needed, but its a bit like a suicide bomber, you can only do it once.

I have the same kettle and was also not happy with the way it pours.

Aldi had Adventuridge 2.5 ltr whistle kettles a couple of weeks ago and there were a few left at Arana Hills QLD Aldi, I decided to pick one up today cost $12.99, much better kettle, pours well.

The new kettle tales the same space as the old one thanks to the folding handle.

Yep that's what I've got, and you can cook in it as well - which can be a bit hard in a conventional kettle :)

Yep. We have something similar. Cook in it, boil water, leave it on the fire.  Great billie
