This came in an email to me today, sorry if it is here already.
Something to be concerned about possibly. I had no idea this was possible to be honest.

Yep, never post a pic or comment on any internet forum or social media that you wouldn't be happy to share with the world.

Great, now ya tell me...

Another piece of advice is never give your real 'date of birth' to any internet site.
Many sites ask for it these days. I have a dummy DOB that I use for any of these.

Thanks DaveR,
Just went through the 5 family members iPhones, and turned off Geotracking.
I had no idea.

This is why we do not have exit data being accepted by tripigy. Images are not tagged with geo data upon upload. You can report your location so the data has some value, but you need to control it.
Most people don't realise phones and camera tag this geo data in exif format to images.
Yes as per previous comment, ensure when you post photos it is done securely and either shown to those you know or just ensure only public photos are sent up.

This is less of an issue in reality as many sharing sites strip the data out on your behalf, have a read of the attached blog and scroll to the table at the bottom that gives you a list of sites and their policy on storing this meta data.

When uploading on to Myswag I use photobucket because you can go into settings and set it to remove all meta data on upload and scramble file names which stops people from guessing sequences.

did a lot of passengers upload photos of the plane from their phones that you're not sharing with the world?
