Sorting through some of the sh!t I have under the bench in the shed at home I came across a heap of old Exhaust and Intake Valves off Cylinder Heads.
I was going to throw them out until Jen walked in and said " they'd be good to hold down the Annex Matting". What a clever girl ;D. Took the matting outside and hammered them in through the eyelets.
Perfect. Nice and flat and nothing to trip over.

Reminds me of when I was a (very) young fella, my dad used long nails though bottle caps to hold the hessian flor down in the tent. Caps off the old KB long necks I think! always plenty them around in the 60/70s.

How many meters of matting to the gallon do you get?
Was it exhaustive hammering them in?
Great idea btw:-)

we used to use old valves for pegging down the mats at cricket for years.. worked awesome, and a great sized head for beating it into the ground... easy to get out again too
