Bugger..
I have just set up for the weekend, and can't get the thetford n304 fridge in my swan to work on gas.it has been working on 240v for the last few days. I forgot to switch the fridge to 3 way on my drive here. The site seems pretty level, and it has always started on gas easily in the past.
The gas stove works fine, so I think I have gas.
Anyone got ideas?

Cause I have run out of ideas. Checked gas bottle. Have checked valve under van. Have read manual and FAQ. Site is level.
-
Have you got the temperature setting on 5(highest) setting?
Good luck

Temp is set to 5. Has previously been fine starting on 4. Starting to think there may be a problem beyond my ineptitude.

The gas valve close to the fridge hasn't been shut off. Will your stove light up?
Do you hear the ignition clicking? If not do you have the 12v isolated.
Is it switched to auto
That's about my limit of fault finding .

I run the gas stove for a minute to bring the gas thru from the cylinder, this serves 2 purposes, firstly, it purges the air that might be in the gas lines, and secondly, my stove ignition works thru the same fuse as the fridge ignition, on my Jayco swan, so if the stove wont go neither will the fridge,
My fridge is a dometic unit and may be set up different than your set up

Hey Brindi did you have any luck? If so what was the solution?

There is a valve under th camper. I have tried it both ways.
Ignition clicks. A mechanical kind sound. Same us usual.
Not sure what auto means. Didn't think my fridge had an auto mode.

No solution at the moment.

Gas is definitely coming through to stove. Stove is clicking for auto ignition and working. Thanks for idea.

Hooray - took bottom vent off, and manually lit pilot light with a BBQ lighter.

Nice work. Now time to empty out all the off food out of the fridge, fill it with beer, crank it up and then enjoy the rest of the day

Good result.
On our three way, the gas knob must be depressed to let the gas thru and then rotated to provide the spark.
I find it starts better if I press the knob down for say 30 seconds before rotating it (whilst still depressed).
On ours you can actually look down the vent pipe ( from about 30 cm away) and see if the unit is providing a spark at the pilot. You can check if you can see the pilot mechanism location by doing the same whilst the unit is operating, better at night in the dark - but do it from the distance indicated unless you want a hot eyeball!
Hope your beer and milk is nice and cold.

Beer, food etc all stayed good. Very glad that the fridge has been cooled for a few days, and that we were just staying for a weekend, so not too much food and wine to worry about.
Thanks for all the tips.
