Hi
Just about to pickup my first CT (an Ezytrail). Looking for some advice on great places to stay within a couple of hours of Melbourne. I have power on board, and it needs to be suitable for kids and dogs....
Thanks ;-)

Mitchels Crossing via Nagambie just around the corner from the Mitchelton winery . 1 1/2 hours from Melb , on creek , fishing . shade , flat camping area, quiet . Unless there a MySwag catch up happening :cup:

Do you mean Johanna beach, its a good spot an the inlet up the road is pretty god as well
Just watch the waves if you venture close to the surf, it gets pretty wild down there

son and mates just got back from the Otways. Said it was carnage.
200 campers trying to jam into 100 sites. He couldn't open his drivers door as the person next site parked up against his GQ

I think that was Australia day long weekend (and yes it was carnage - people hammering tent pegs into the car park gravel / sleeping in the tennis clubrooms etc). By 2 pm on the Monday they were all gone and the caravanners started arriving. Probably 25 a day there for the next week. Lots of room for everyone.
Well worth a stay. Neither of the last two wikicamps updates (13th and 15th) mention overcrowding. Beware a windy night there though .......
Enjoy!!
