Title: Small Town Whispers
Post by: speewa158 on February 09, 2014, 09:46:59 AM
We might only be small up this way but the whispers are huge . You can espier to almost anything by a simple word in the right ear . The best part is everybody dies famous in a small town .
Having recently move here at the start it was  Who's that bloke   ???  Where dose he work   ???& Where dose he live  ??? . Then its a case 0f Ohhh you bout his house , if you don't know how much you paid for it guess  .
lt can be so much fun weeding out the truth from the BS

Man o man, better not tell anyone local the story of said MIA camp chair then.
The truth (or not) could kill a good story.  I'd rather they died famously and wondering:-)

Yep, know all about the 'knowing everyone else's business' in a small town  ;)
While ours boys were growing up, we'd often have them bamboozled because we'd know if they'd been up to mischief before they'd get home   ;D

Yep, small towns are like Facebook in real life.

For our 10 year Anniversary, hubby was taking me to Europe, and whilst applying for a passport, found out that we weren't actually legally married…mix up with the paperwork at Births Deaths and Marriages (nice of them to notify us).

I told one person at the local school when I dropped the kids off in the morning, and come time to pick them up, had a lady (who I didn't know) come up to me and say ' did you hear about the lady who thought she was married but wasn't, and her bastard children?'

I just said 'yes, it's me' and walked off  >:D

lts just amazing the look on the face when you confront them & the crap they spread . You then give your side of the story , not nearly as exciting as the truth/BS that they spread .

The interesting thing about small towns is you live in someone else house until you leave then it becomes yours. Eg "oh, you live thommo's old house". Then when you leave it becomes "such and such just moved into [insert your name'] old house.
