Do you have something running of the aux most of the time because it's really bad to have the battery charging (reg or no reg) without any load.
I have found mobility scooter and electric wheel chair places to be a good option. Battery's are very important to them but are a secondary business and do not put as much of a mark up as battery shops (or maybe their turn over is higher ).
My current batteries are flatter and longer than what you would call normal (designed for a certain gap) but were a great price as the shop got them imported in bulk but turn over was a little slow.

It just runs the fridge, which I turn on maybe 1/2 dozen time throughout the year
