Hello All,
I work for MDC Camper Trailers & Caravans and I am happy to have joined this forum.
We have been lurking here for some years and have finally decided to actively post.
I look forward to being an active member.
Some details about our company.
MDC Camper Trailers is based in 5 locations across Australia:
- Brisbane
- Sydney
- Melbourne
- Adelaide
- Perth.
We are serious about the Research and Development of our products and test them to their absolute limits, in the field, to provide the best possible value/quality for our customers.
We have manufactured more than 20,000 camper trailers over the past 8 years throughout Australia. We are a family run company who has expanded quickly and now feed the families of more than 110 Australian workers each week.
We have showroom/warehouse locations in Perth, Brisbane(Head Office), Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and we service warranties from all these locations. Our product is sold across 165 MDC, BCF & Rays Outdoors stores.
We're not the best camper trailers in the market (we're working on it), but we certainly offer great bang for your buck. We're certainly not the most expensive, however we may pickup an award or two for Camper Trailer of the Year 2014 which we are proud to be associated with.
Our range starts at $5000 and ends at our $60,000 Offroad caravans.
Our website is www.marketdirectcampertrailers.com.au (http://www.marketdirectcampertrailers.com.au)
You may contact us on 1300 4X4 4X4

Great to meet you all :)

Steve is that you? Can I get your autograph?? ;D
-
Hi DannyG,
Sorry mate, this is not Steve.
Steve is too busy field testing our trailers, beating up our 4WD Hilux on some track somewhere, that no one has driven for 20 years or so, with the 4WD Action crew :)
Happy Camping ;)

Welcome to MySwag, good to see another manufacturer on the forum supplying information on their products

Hi Market Direct Camper
really good to see somebody from the manufacture side on the site
hope the site has information that will help with new models
or if there are any things that people would like changed
manufacturers can not get better without feed back
whether good or bad (not saying anything wrong with your campers)

good to have you on board, can get it straight from the horses mouth so to speak

Welcome it is great to see MDC here to another camper manufacturer here to join in the discussion.
I believe that if you are looking for real honest feedback "We're not the best camper trailers in the market (we're working on it)" you will get it here.
It is great to see manufacturers join in and actively take part of the discussion, as a mostly happy owner of an MDC Offroad Stepthrough I for one can provide significant constructive feedback online or offline on what I believe is a great value for money product with a few rough edges that could easily be fixed.

Welcome,
Always good to have manufacturers here, even if at times we get a bit carried away with our passions.
Your campers are competitively priced and were on my list

Yes it is good to see a manufacturer here . You know I feel that the CT market is stuck in a rut , they're all based on a basic box trailer. Hey we don't cart stuff to the tip in our C/T's do we , so lets get away from the box trailer .
I was very impressed with the C/T's I saw on a recent trip to South Africa and I've noticed a few adds popping up here now for them .
They're very inovative and definitely not a box trailer with a tent thrown on the top .
Come on local manufacturers , sure the box trailer is the cheapest way to implement a C/T but they're still a box trailer with a tent on the top . Have a look at the South African C/T's and you'll be impressed .
Cheers Ross

You obviously are looking at the bottom end of the market. Look at Complete Campsite or Aussie swag Kimberly Kampers and Trackabout to start with.
If you like the South African C/T then buy one, don't bag out the Australian made

Carl, Don't forget Kimberley Kampers ;D
Based on comments over on the Newcastle Expo thread apparently MDC have a new hard floor coming soon that is "inspired" by the Kimberley.

Last time I looked my ultimate looked nothing like a box trailer with a tent on top. Lol

Hi All,
Our Voyager Rearfold camper trailer has been in the market for more than 2 years if this is the model you are referring to?
With the latest V4 Upgrades it is certainly a lot of kit compared to last years model and still only priced at $15,990.
Here are some pictures of the V4 version.

Have a look at the South African C/T's and you'll be impressed .
When the South Africans manage to produce a camper that sleeps a family of 5, and I can actually afford it without selling both kidneys, then I will be impressed.....

There was a bloke importing one on here, was going to be a massive saving on the aussie price.. dunno bout sleeping 5, but well worth looking into..

According to the brochure I've got, it's called the Platinum V4..
Funny how KK have a Platinum model as well ??
As it's almost an exact copy, may as well call it the same name as well ??

Hi All,
Here are some pics of the underside drawbar and chassis of our V4 Crusader Forward Fold.
Drawbar is 120mm x 50mm x 4mm Hot Dipped Galvanised
Chassis 100 x 50mm x 3mm Hot Dipped Galvanised
No Bolts, 100% Welded
This design has been refined by us for more than 2 years and was a finalist in the $15-30K Camper Trailer Australia Magazine, 2014 Camper Trailer of the Year Awards.
