Take it to Apple, its about the same price and they check it properly
I went they other way and it bit me on the bum, then took it to Apple and they didn't wont to know about it.

Apple store swap the device for a fee. They don't physically fix your one for you. They give you a new one. (New battery. New case)

And you get a 3 month warranty if you go via apple.

It might be cheaper at that place in the middle of the sc. But. Often only just.

Had my iPhone screen replaced at AAmobilephones (http://www.aamobilephones.com.au/) in Underwood. Good service, done while you wait.

X2

I was also bitten. Had the screen replaced at a computer shop, then when I went to Apple with another problem, they said they couldn't do anything for me following the "unauthorised" repair, but they would have exchanged my unit (for a fee) if I had come to them (both times).  Also, the repair shop claimed to use a genuine Apple replacement screen, but the Apple store said that was impossible because they do not provide them to anyone else?!

And keeping on topic with this forum, the original screen broke when it slipped from the ledge next to our camper bed then under it without being noticed as the bed was lifted. When the bed was lowered - crack!

This is exactly how I replaced the screen on my ipad 3.
Screen was $38.00 off eBay and I fired up YouTube on my laptop.
I didn't have any problems, actually it was very simple.
Cheapest quote I could get in town was $150 to replace the screen.
