Read this in the latest CTA mag last night and so here is the info from the web.
Pioneer Campers is urging camper trailer buyers to be wary of any Pioneer 2013 Evolution up for sale through an unverified source, following the theft of five campers from its factory in July this year.
The stolen campers have individual VIN numbers for identification, with one camper bearing registration details.
Camping enthusiasts buying a camper not from an authorised dealer are advised to contact Pioneer Head Office directly to verify its authenticity. Vigilance is recommended as those in possession of one of the stolen campers are at risk of losing their total investment.
Authorised Dealers: Pioneer Campers WA Sales & Service, WA, Tel: 1300 587 844; Glenrest Hire & Sales, SA, Tel: (08) 8665 7060; A.J. Thomas Campers, Vic, Tel: (03) 9572 1008; Pioneer Campers Direct in Qld and NSW, Tel: 1300 325 556.
Visit www.pioneercampers.com.au (http://www.pioneercampers.com.au) for more information.
I went to the website but couldnt find any more info on there. No pics of the "Evolution" either. Perhaps a new model.

Quick......... and not just a little bit dry !!!
I probably shouldnt make jokes in a thread thats about stolen campers.
For a simple country lad like myself its hard to comprehend that someone would be brazen enough to go to a warehouse and steal 5 camper trailers, whats Australia coming to.

Hate to be sceptical, but the only documented info there is a link to their dealer network ???
List the chasis numbers online with pics of trailers and the contact details of the police dealing with the investigation.
Or just scare people into buying new.
Prob fully legit but why not post the numbers so poor old me can check if I am buying off a private seller, would hate to be trying to sell one 2nd hand.
Chassis numbers must be stamped on the drawbar so pretty hard to cover up unless you grind it off. If people know the exact number and the location they placed it on in factory then they will know where to check for respraying or different numbering.

Sounds a bit like a scam to get more website "hits" ... Doesn't appear to be a 2013 Evolution at all ...

Good pickup

Yes, the power/influence of internet cannot be ignored these days. As all myswaggers learned recently, the inherent trust placed in what is read always needs to be tempered against fact. All will recall the Bond movie "The World Is Not Enough" and whilst that may have been fantasy, the implied truth cannot be denied. As jetcrew put it, publish the identification details for all, or many will ignore/not deem worthy of being relevant. More than likely this is true, but the modern world needs proof of truth as much as it needs proof of scams. Sad state we are in.

Not wanting to add any credibility to this topic if it is unwarranted but I thought the title "evolution" was given to the new "look" featured on all their current models, as opposed to the more conventional look of their original models.
Although this opinion is only derived from what I read about their new look on a post on MySwag sometime in the last 12 months.

Here is where I thought I saw it mentioned http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=25886.msg399166#msg399166 (http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=25886.msg399166#msg399166)
But I must of been mistaken ???, unless it was in the now defunct PDF link.
