Someone has kidnapped the Australian cricket team and replaced them with people who can actually play cricket.... Eng 9/238 after the first day.
This England side are not much chop, but we have made them look the better team so far through this series.
C'mon AUSSIE!!!!!!!
PS On a related topic, here's hoping the Southern Stars give the English a good whacking this week too!
-
For a while I have been a fan of the Southern Stars because they are the only Aussie cricket team that are having a red hot go at it. Good to see the boys having a decent crack at it too now. Though our boys haven't batted yet so will wait and see what happens. Hope they keep up the pressure for the last 2 away and then next 5 tests at home.
And go the Southern Stars!! :cup:
-
Yep I think you are right. As long as our opening batsman can make some runs and stop leaving it up to the bowlers. At least Warner is opening now instead of Watson hope Warner makes some runs and maybe Maxwell can take Watsons spot off him after his recent batting effort
-
They were good in the first and third tests but completely outplayed in the second. Here's hoping.

We haven't batted yet
Exactly! Our bowlers have done well this innings, but this series it's been our batsmen who have let us down. Great effort by Lyon (4/42 off 20), but I dread to think what havoc Swann will cause........
So; Anderson out first ball, we bat for 2 full days and declare at 550 plus, then bowl them out ;D ;D Ahhh, the glory days of Aussie cricket!!!!!!

Please don't take my dreams from me, they are all I have ;D ;D
-
Yeah, sorry about that. We pinched the team and brought them out here for the children to practice with, but the children keep beating them ;D ;D ;D

We Thank you TJ

I hope the kids taught them a few tricks TJ, such as how to play against spin bowlers ;D

With sticks as bats and rocks as balls, I reckon the best play is self defence 8) 8)

It's cause Boof's in control. Expect the side to get better and better.

Pretty close so far, Anderson out on the twelfth ball :)
Edit - I spoke too soon Australia 2/ 12 (6.1) :(
-
Looks like the criminals returned the real Australian Cricket Team.... Well at least the batsmen anyway!
-
We haven't batted yet
Don't blink.......
-
FFS Australia 3/ 52 (14.0)
-
What was Clark thinking!, I'm off to bed !
-
This crime is worse than I thought...we cannot get the cricket on Radio National, now that is inforgivable, they used to have it on Radio National, all they had was politicians competing with the cattle in how much can be left in the paddock 8) 8) 8)

Again not good by the openers when are they going to get some batsman in or should they just pick a full team of bowlers and open with some of them as well

Maybe just a team of over 35's.
-
Chris [Buck] Rogers got a ton, onya mate you waited long enough for it!
-
Yeah, great to see, good on him :cup:
Hope he can add a few more to that tonight.
Its a pity the rest of our batsmen (apart from Watson), failed dismally again >:(
-
I confess to giving up on Cricket when Andrew Symons was fined for not showing up to a stupid press conference in Darwin and going fishing instead.
I decided it was a rediculas advertising show and no longer a sport to appreciate, and I am yet to be proved wrong.
I am sure in the past that if an aussie gave one to a pomme in a bar, he'd have been carried on the shoulders of the team onto the field for the next match. What the heck is this sheit we have now.
When the Kiwi's beat us 3 games to nil in one day matches several years ago, and the kiwi team wage was equal to 1 of our players, I cheered for them.
There you have it, a bit of a whinge for you.
-
DaveR, I'm with you. Cricket has gone crap because its given in to $$ and tv. I was originally excited by the fact that 90 was televising the series, but so far I have watched less than one session collectively over 3.5 tests. The DRS needs modifying, not canning. The players need sacking. And I need a drink.....

Yep, this is how I remember them.... :'(

Ah yes, found at last. And the memories of how rubbish we are come flooding back.
-
4 days again Watson is lucky at least with the injury he can retire from tests so he doesn't get dumped
-
Stolen goods returned. Unfortunately.
-
Paul(SA) maybe you should of waited till after the test to report the crime haha perhaps they wouldn't of been found so soon.
-
Pathetic efffort. Talk about a mid order collapse. Lost 6 for 31 in 13 overs >:( :'(
Anyone got the number of the women's Ashes team? 8)

Funny a mate had a post on their FB page asking for players for the Aus team I said I will play the series here I am captain batting at 4 and if I can figure out how I will bowl too haha. Never played a game in my life but reckon I will do ok lol

I'd say youd do a darn sight better than that lot over there at the moment.......put me down as a medium pace all rounder ;D ;D
Actually, I reckon 11 sacks of potatoes could do better than the aussie cricket team right now!!

You are in the team as you can see I am selector as well now. Where would you like to bat anywhere but number 4. Since they don't have a full batting team anyway I might put my heeler x in as fielder or wickey
-
Our boys showed true guts and determination, fought hard till the end and everyone played their part.
Sarcasm doesn't really come across in text does it....
At least they play better at home, so should last 5 days for the loss. Hopefully they'll retire off Watson and Play Falkner in the last test. Need to move away from the traditional pommie all rounder (can't bat can't bowl) and to the modern all rounder.
BTW - Southern stars 6 declared for 331, just send them out for the last test :D
-
The original post must have been a sham !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(
How dare you put the mockers on the wannabee a cricket team.
I suggest we export them to Nauru or Atlantis >:D
-
Ill play, opening bat and bowl either leg or off spin,
-
Did I here that they are now paying Clark $6,000,000 for his current contract, I would think $5,999,990 to much.

His payments from cricket Australia is 2.5m. Not bad coin if you can get it. His other sponsors, ipl and other arrangements tops it up to the reported 6m. Either way maybe I should of listened to my cricket coach as a little boy

Finally Pup wins the toss and decides to bat first

Optimism is the essence of life, but don't start a gambling career with predictions like that. With Watson batting at 3 (actually, anywhere for that matter) the collapse is imminent. Smith, Faulkner, etc have nothing consistent to offer other than garbage, which is remarkably consistent this series. What the Aussies wouldn't give to have M Hussey at 6....

Retired too early gosh I miss Huss, Watson should do all a favour and retire (despite above posts about playing no I could not do better but still have and opinion on it) or at least they should drop him.
-
Well, here we go again 1-11. Warner: 100 or (more often than not) diddly squat. Groundhog day must be this team's favourite movie.
-
1 down in under 20minutes...
It's a cracking time in sport to be British at the moment. Lions, Tennis, Ashes. It's only taken 30years!
-
^^^^^ And Lewis Hamilton won a GP for Mercedes's a week or so ago!
-
Watson 176.

And Smith 66 not out.
Care for some sauce with that pie........ >:D ;D ;D
-
Nup all well and good he makes runs now when they already have that part of the series won. Do we then have to carry him through the Aus matches as well. I dont have any problem with Smith so hope he goes well.
-
Who knew...
Might actually get 4 days worth of cricket from this last test!
>:D
-
I am tipping the last 6 wickets fall for under 100 runs, call me a realist :(
Oh and Watson, one big hundred doesn't mean he should keep his place in the team.

I call you an optimist :) if they last 100 we will be doing well

Since it was 40 odd innings between 100's for him, this will probably keep him in for another 40 failed innings unfortunately...

Why not? > it worked for Taylor when he was captain!! As said, big innings in dead matches count for very little. Dean Jones was a culprit of this too for those with long memories.
-
Yes, I agree that Taylor hung around for a little too long, and it looks like Clarke might be heading down the same road!! ;D :P
But as for Watson, way too little way too late.
-
Looks like the rain delay might help the game get to 5 days :)
