Title: UHF channel stickers
Post by: olddigger on July 27, 2013, 01:00:45 AM
I'd like to put a "UHF Ch 18" sticker on the CT. Can you get them in Perth? Tried Camec today and they knew what I meant but did not sell 'em.

Cheers, Tony

Bunnings or other such hardware store will sell individual letters and numbers by sticker.

Can even get hi-viz/glow in dark lettering.    (think of the bling!)

U will have to go to a sign writer, most could print u out a nice looking sticker.. Much more fancy than just getting bunnings stickers...

That way u can get ur name printed out in a nice script

Tapa Tapa talk is not as good as using safari.

My local autobarn does custom vinyl stickers. Some markets have a person that does them as well.

I have a home base UHF, which runs on a 240v system, through a 7 metre station master aerial, again power boosted.  This allows the monitoring and scanning of all channels, so if someone on the Tanami or CSR does get in trouble, we frequently pick up their signal.
Often my son simpl does "welfare checks" when he hears people travelling and communicating on UHF, from "Mulan Base 1", making sure people are okay.  On good days we can talk with the Granites Mine.
Regards
Tjupurula

WHoopa, off topic, my apologies.
