Legal.

Why is there any difference between plastic or metal?  Petrol can be carried in both and it is much more flammable than diesel.

A lot of service station get a little towey about filling up metal jerries these days,Im lead to believe that its not illegal, so long as the jerry cans fit within a certain distance of the trailer and a are marked with its contents..

A lot of service station get a little towey about filling up jerrys these days, because people don't remove them from there vehicle or trailer and place them on the ground before filling them. The jerry sound also be marked with the relevant  AS fuel compliance.

This is taken from Seton Australia, I understand that they are a reliable source.

My only question is the blue, as I always thought that was pottable water.

Interesting chart, I always thought light blue was for water, I use my diesel jerry for water because it hangs onto the side of my ct and has thicker plastic, wonder if I should mark it with water only  then

These are for metal I think, not sure if plastic is different.

Setons and others also sell tags that you can put on the Jerry handle letting people know what is in there.

One day I will get myself organised and get the right coloured Jerry's.
