Post by: Kit_e_kat9 on July 03, 2013, 02:24:36 PM

Thanks to Higgins Storm Chasing (https://www.facebook.com/HigginsStormChasing?ref=stream&hc_location=stream) for this link.  Excellent forecasts and interesting stuff.  Great bunch of people.

Anyone else have some interesting Sky Watching sites?

Funny you should post this today - just this morning my 6yo son and I were heading out the door to drive to Brisbane and he said "Dad is that a shooting star?" - it was the ISS, heading north. Surprisingly big and bright too.

I'm sure this is well known, but in case anyone hasn't discovered it yet..

Never again wonder "is that a star or a planet?" Just hold your phone up to the sky and find out.

I use the Night Sky App on the iPad.

Hold it up at the sky and it tells you what all the constellations are.

You do get a sore neck after a while.

Well done!

It'll be heading through Sagittarius about 1830 (well just before actually) tonight ... pity once again here ... CLOUD!
