Hi guy'n'girls
Do we have any professional tree loppers here, living/working in northern NSW (New England area) or Southern Queensland, would need to be fully insured and equipt to bring down very large gum on a vacant residental block that as neighbouring property one side.
I had 2 rediculous quotes or they just couldn't be bothered to go look at it.

Todd grimley from just south of Toowoomba took down 15 trees for me and did a great job
Can chase up number if required

Casually mention to one of the neighbours it has termites.
I reckon next time you go back it'll be gone.......

Not termites ,,Bardy Gruds they will eat growing trees . Have you tried a cordless drill & round up , expanding bait in the roots , cutting the roots on 1 side , windy day to blow it over . But what would l know ,,,,,,,,Oh it must be Beeroclock

So that's how one does it ... Round up you say. Hmmm ;) Cordless drill you reckon. ;) Windy day hey? ;) What's an expanding bait ... must google that. I wonder if the insurance detectives check for that sort of thing? All duly programmed into "if that ever happens it wasn't me" memory banks.

I have a new ms170 stihl and a concrete warranty?

Kit_e expanding bait , so lm told , could be , if l heard correctly in a crowded bar , near closing time , . The stick like a candle that you light the wick ( some may say fuse ) & chuck into river . It sinks then expands , quickly , noiseyly , & fish float . I hope that explains what little l know about the subject , if l was asked

Used roundup on a 20 metre high ghost gum planted on the council medium strip. The roots were cracking the path on the front of the house and the front verandah.
Took about 3 months before the tree was fully dead.
The arborists the council hired to cut the tree down said it looked like boarers got into the tree as there were holes all around the lower trunk. All up they had it cut down to a stump in about an hour, great to watch.
Pretty sure they report back to the council on what they think killed the tree. After repeated requests for the council to remove it because it was damaging the footpath and my home, I took matters into my own hands and gave the tree a good drink.
Didn't cost me a cent. Ghost gums are filthy trees. They drop leaves all year round, branches, nuts, it never ends.

Give Sid Brown a call on 0400226884. If he's willing to travel from Brisbane, he was by far the cheapest quote my folks received for a huge ghost gum in their front yard. Great bloke, they did a fantastic job and left the place nice and tidy.

Ive got a chainsaw but never dropped a big tree like that and wouldnt know how, but id love to do it just for the shear excitement of wondering if it was going to fall on the house next door ;D

[/qu I thought Toyotas were unbreakable, or is that only the older ones.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've made note of those that supplied phone numbers, there's no real rush to get it down.
I like the idea of the expanding bait >:D, not think the house next door would survive though,
I reckon there about 2 yrs supply of fire would in that bugger
unless of coarse its a MySwag meet, then it would only last 2 days ;D
