Title: Advice on chairs and table
Post by: thommo19 on June 08, 2013, 07:30:52 PM
As out CT is getting close to deliver 7th July,we are looking at buying some necessary gear.
From your experience guys we are after a couple of good chairs and sturdy table.
The chairs we are thinking should hard arms but must be comfortable ,table adequate size for say 4 persons.
We do not want to cut costs on these items as we figure they will get a lot of use.

Yeah. We use one of the Bunnings folding jobs. It lays on the bed when we're on the move.

I have the OzTrail Kokoda chair and it is the best camping chair I have ever owned.

Our table is an aluminium where the top comes off and folds into little sections. It sets up in 30 secs and sits the four of us just fine.

We have these, super compfy with under leg support and sitting position is higher so you can sit comfortably at the table

These chairs fold up into a long bag, not flat, so they store quite easily

the chairs and tables we have were chosen mostly for the fact they fit in the camper where they do, so consider how much room you have to store them and ask yourself if the type you like will fit somewhere in the camper or vehicle. i like the Dune type chairs shown above, but we don't have the room to store them so have a different style chair (which is comfy but not the type i'd get if i had more room). the blow mould table we have would be nicer in a bigger size, but as with the chairs storage would then become a problem for us, so i got a size that fits nicely for the space it's in.

We have one of these for a table and chair set, the seats clip under the table when folded up which saves space they retail for $100 when on special, http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Outdoor-Furniture/Sports-Table (http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/Camp-and-Hike/Outdoor-Furniture/Sports-Table)

Two of these chairs, again wait for the specials I got them for $30 each not top of the range but comfy all the same, http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Coleman-Weekender-Max-Chair-Blue-Grey.aspx?pid=287920&menuFrom=21302#Cross (http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Coleman-Weekender-Max-Chair-Blue-Grey.aspx?pid=287920&menuFrom=21302#Cross)

I grabbed one of these chairs one day whilst out shopping and for the price (much cheaper than leading brands) it is an excellent chair, it reclines back and is great for having a siesta in, I am going to grab another next time I am at Big W, http://www.bigw.com.au/sports-leisure/camping/camping-furniture/bpnBIGW_0000000313619/hinterland-relaxer-lounger (http://www.bigw.com.au/sports-leisure/camping/camping-furniture/bpnBIGW_0000000313619/hinterland-relaxer-lounger)

Keep an eye out for when the sales are on you can save quite a few dollars .

We have the companion brand chairs from bunnings they recline without foot rest but have head rest that is height adjustable like others we bought for storage these fold flat on top of bed area but we shopped around these were wider than other similar designs I am not very big but like to put my feet under me on chair. Love them I can snoze in mine. Table we have aluminium slat table and 2 oztrail stools for drinks or snacks beside chair or to rest feet on. Also have one of those tables where the legs fold under itself that are desigmed to pull up to a couch or edge of bed it is good for eating meals off.

We take a couple of Dune recliners with us when we camp, the only thing is that they are heavy and bulky... but worth it as they are comfortable....

I have a cheap $10 chair, but for sitting around teh fire at night I use a moon chair I got at Ray's a bit like this one

http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Boab-Deluxe-Moon-Chair-Grey-Quad-Fold-100kg.aspx?pid=330144&menuFrom=21302#Cross (http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/online-store/products/Boab-Deluxe-Moon-Chair-Grey-Quad-Fold-100kg.aspx?pid=330144&menuFrom=21302#Cross)

It's great the two kids can cuddle up next to me to keep warm.  the only thing it doesn't have is a drink holder.

We have the Diamantina Paradise Royal Chair, not the smallest to pack but soooo comfortable (13th chair down).  Reclines and can adjust the front feet for uneven ground or longer/shorter legs.
