Landline is a good show..
60 years ago, two men took on the challenge of riding motorcycles around the continent as a reliability trial called Transmatilda. It was a time when only 10 per cent of Australia's country roads were sealed. And now that epic journey is being re-enacted. Mike Sexton reports.

Great story. I loved these parts.
Murray Adams cheated death for 96 years. The collateral damage of three wrecked planes, four cars and two tractors was just the beginning. There was the near-death pneumonia episode following a ski trip to Mount Buller that took six months and a fulltime nurse to recover from
Murray took a role as manager and secretary of the National Safety Council of Australia (Queensland chapter), a role his family often likened to "putting the fox in charge of the henhouse".

A Fortunate Life by A.B.Facey reminded me of my dad so I asked him to write about his life for me, it came back ok, all 1 and a half foolscap pages, just didn't occur to him that his life was anything worth writing about or was of any interest to any one else :'( :'( :'( :'(
