just wondering what boxes you all use to put your battery in for your camper trailer?
We are looking for a box which we can attach to the outside of the CT, so it would need to be weather proof.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, some of the marine ones look quite good, does anyone use them, or do you use steel / checker plate ones?
Cheers

Hi baz1,
I use two checker plate boxs that came with the trailer. They are both weather proof and fit the batteries quite well.

I just use a cheap plastic battery box with holes drilled on the bottom to let water out. No idea why it would need to be weather proof.

Thanks guys, would water not affect the batteries and wiring if they were not weatherproof?

dont know about being weather proof , but good idea to make it thief proof >:D
and also allow enough room to so you can work in and around terminal etc etc

No doesn't need to be weatherproof. Batteries survive in the elements all the time. Look at trucks and tractors. It's about looks and keeping them secure.

Cheers guys, I think I will see if I can find a lockable marine battery box

You really only need to secure them to the camper and stop things coming into contact with the positive terminal. Aesthetically some boxes are nicer than others and that could be important.

Very important Jules!
