Well I'm all alone here with The Vicker of Dibley and her friends. There is one gift under the tree (thanks Mandrake). Tomorrow I spend with my BF's family. My sister turns 40 tomorrow so I must send her a text around midnight. Ma n Pa have their lavender shop open and are arguing with their neighbours so won't be coming here and I can't go there alas.
Sigh. Another Xmas Eve alone, but for my animals and my bottle. ;D
Stay safe you lot. I hope Santa doesn't get a flat.

P.S. Found this for you Speewa!
Night Before Christmas in Aussie land
'Twas the night before Christmas; there wasn't a sound.
Not a possum was stirring; no-one was around.
We'd left on the table some tucker and beer,
Hoping that Santa Claus soon would be here;
We children were snuggled up safe in our beds,
While dreams of pavlova danced 'round in our heads;
And Mum in her nightie, and Dad in his shorts,
Had just settled down to watch TV sports.
When outside the house a mad ruckus arose;
Loud squeaking and banging woke us from our doze.
We ran to the screen door, peeked cautiously out,
snuck onto the deck, then let out a shout.
Guess what had woken us up from our snooze,
But a rusty old Ute pulled by eight mighty 'roos.
The cheerful man driving was giggling with glee,
And we both knew at once who this plump bloke must be.
Now, I'm telling the truth it's all dinki-di,
Those eight kangaroos fairly soared through the sky.
Santa leaned out the window to pull at the reins,
And encouraged the 'roos, by calling their names.
'Now, Kylie! Now, Kirsty! Now, Shazza and Shane!
On Kipper! On, Skipper! On, Bazza and Wayne!
Park up on that water tank. Grab a quick drink,
I'll scoot down the gum tree. Be back in a wink!'
So up to the tank those eight kangaroos flew,
With the Ute full of toys, and Santa Claus too.
He slid down the gum tree and jumped to the ground,
Then in through the window he sprang with a bound.
He had bright sunburned cheeks and a milky white beard.
A jolly old joker was how he appeared.
He wore red stubby shorts and old thongs on his feet,
And a hat of deep crimson as shade from the heat.
His eyes - bright as opals - Oh! How they twinkled!
And, like a goanna, his skin was quite wrinkled!
His shirt was stretched over a round bulging belly
Which shook when he moved, like a plate full of jelly.
A fat stack of prezzies he flung from his back,
And he looked like a swaggie unfastening his pack.
He spoke not a word, but bent down on one knee,
To position our goodies beneath the yule tree.
Surfboard and footy-ball shapes for us two.
And for Dad, tongs to use on the new barbeque.
A mysterious package he left for our Mum,
Then he turned and he winked and he held up his thumb;
He strolled out on deck and his 'roos came on cue;
Flung his sack in the back and prepared to shoot through.
He bellowed out loud as they swooped past the gates-
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, and goodonya, MATES!

Miss 9 is very dubious and has been asking me for a couple of days whether Santa is real.
She has gone to bed now, but before she did she set her Santa stocking up in such a difficult position in the camper that I'm not sure how I'll get the presents into it without stepping on her in the bunk below. She is a canny little thing.
Miss nearly 2 is just loving camping and isn't too fussed about it being Xmas eve. Tomorrow she'll get excited to open a few gifts I'm sure.
-
Jules if Young Missy is Canny Santa can be TOO . Park the Booty somewhere else but close As Santa hav a really busy night , Etc , Etc :cheers: Good Seasons Good Miles
-
I remember puting things together half cut in the midle of the night

Swing sets aren't too bad, but trampolines..... well once you've got it together, you have to try it out and its damn hard finding a doctor on Christmas Eve and casualty departments are a nightmare... :'(
-
Been there and done the trampoline thing. Yes, I agree being half cut wasn't the smartest move.. It was a few years back, had to ring dad to come in from the farm to get me out of trouble and finish the bloody thing. I shall never, ever forget those never ending bloody springs !!

Ahh Xmas with the true believers is a great time. We still have a great Xmas with the teenagers but I do miss the excitement level the younger ones induce.
And I recall the trampoline eve x 2

I'm lucky this year as I didn't have anything to put together this. Well not yet anyway. Santa has already drunk the milk, ate the cookies and given the reindeer the carrot. Mr6 is getting a quad bike for Christmas so I might need the Ambo when I have a few drink tomorrow and show him how to ride.

my 2 are still awake... :(
Way too hyped up
-
We've been out tonight but I've been trying to calm my son down for the past hour since coming home to no avail. Hubby has music blaring and is chasing him around the house with nerf guns ::)
Luckily the trampoline was put together hours ago. I still don't know how hubby managed to do it all on his own as it said it required three people to assemble ??? Maybe I'll need to get the local hospital on speed dial too...just in case :-\
-
Mine just got their personalised messages from Santa and some how got onto the nice list. The look on their faces watching the video of Santa in the North Pole talking to them and having pictures and details of them was priceless.
For those of you who want to do the web address is www.portablenorthpole.com (http://www.portablenorthpole.com)
It's free takes about 5 minutes to upload a photo and enter you child details and they get a personal video message from Santa emailed to them.
Have a great Christmas.
Regards
Jas

I have just finished......bloody bike had no air in the tyres....that's hard work and I didn't have the correct Alan Key although my neighbour did.......then as I was stacking the pressies in the kitchenette the wife decided to move the girls to a better sleeping possie which woke miss 8 up....I don't think she saw anything...managed to get lights off and shield the area but then she wanted to go to the toilet ....directly past the rest of the presents in the annex....Fun and games....I do think they are on to us with this Santa guy
-
We usually do a Danish Christmas Eve - as many of the Europeans do - and so Christmas Eve was again an evening for family and friends. Family pics won out this year.....
