Title: Mattress for camper trailer
Post by: JBJ21 on October 08, 2012, 08:15:14 PM
Hi All

We are looking at a half decent mattress we have thought of buying a inner spring mattress for our camper. Would like to know if there are any made for camper trailers or do we look at a factory mattress outlet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just bought 2 single inner spring mattresses that together make a Queen size for our camper - 150mm thick single sided 2030 X 760mm - http://www.madetomeasuremattresses.com.au/ (http://www.madetomeasuremattresses.com.au/) - They will make to your specs or offer off the shelf ... Great service - seem to have a lot of good and happy customers - hopefully I will be another ...
Cheers

Another recommendation for made-to-measure. We have had one of their queen size innerspring mattresses for several years and are very happy. They make them especially for campers, and they breathe better than a normal mattress.

The king size foamy that came with our CT was like a rock (probably great for your back though).  We ended up putting an 'egg box' (a good one from pillow talk or similar) type layer and a soft topper over that.  It's bloody comfy and still not too tall so plenty of storage space under the CT cover.

Just another idea mate.

We got our innerspring as an upgrade when we bought our CT, we also have the egg-shell mattress on top.....love it better than our bed at home!!!! :cup:

We also had a foam mattress in our old camper that we put the egg-shell on top of which was very close to being as comfortable as our innerspring, but I would choose innerspring if given the choice now...

You could also look at the CT companies for comparisions...

We upgraded our mattress to an inner spring.  Had two choices.  Single sided or double sided.  The single sided is a lot lighter than the double sided.  Only photo I have (sorry you can't make out the manufacturer's detail).  If you're not in a hurry I will have the CT up again in a couple of weeks.

Before we did the Kimberley's last year in the roof topper we purchased a memory foam mattress to go on top of the Chinese jobbie. Best thing we ever did. We all slept like babies. IMO
