Just to let any one else in the whole world know in case i have missed anybody. we are now the proud owners of a new MTC Escape.
Really happy withe whole process and can't wait to test it out very soon.
For those that will ask we upgraded the mattress, power pack, solar blanket and fridge.
We are two nearly independant from children late 40's looking to do some big trips and escape in our escape!!!
And for the rest of you pictures will follow when we get our system sorted or check their website.

On reflection i probably did overstate it a little. The blanket is a large thick double sided foil insulator that covers the whole of the roof on the bed side. The theory is it keeps the camper cooler in the heat. Great for up north.(Given we are from melbourne and spend some time at the prom maybe we need to keep heat in as well.) When we get to our big trips i am sure it will come in handy

That's awesome - congratulations!!
It is always exciting picking up the new family camper and Mountain Trail certainly have a good name.
Look forward to seeing those pics!!

Also have the solar blanket on the roof on our MT Escape. We just toured central Aus for 4 weeks in July and we found that was also good in the cold. Plenty of nights were zero or below. When we were plugged into power we used a small ceramic blow heater from Bunning (Moretti brand, box style with metal exterial and one handle on the top / $20) which we ran on low / 1000w heat seating just to take the chill off and I do think the solar blanket on the roof really helped. It did also make it a lot darker which caused the odd unplanned sleep in......

Congrats on the campertrailer. We've got a MT Extended Expedition(it's a few years old now), and it's followed us across the centre, through the Kimberley, to Fraser Island, and Cape York and will next year follow us through the Simpson Desert.
Nick does a great job with them. We bought ours before a lot of the accessories like solar blankets were available, but we have had Nick add the odd upgrade or improvement here and there.
Happy travelling and exploring :D
Cheers

We have had our first trip awa y in our new CT.
very happy with the set up. We do need to refine it a little but 20 years of old Jayco is seriously ingrained.
We had a lovely weekend at Eildon needless to say very quiet. Maybe something to do with it being the midle of winter !!!!
The solar blanket did keeo some heat in and did make it much darker in the mornings.
Everything worked beautifully and as you can see the birds were very friendly !!!

Looks like a great setup you have there, Mountain Trail do an excellent CT. What camp spot was that?
Cheers Jacko

It was Candlebark campground Eildon National Park. Pretty spot. We could have a fire and a shower. They tell me the fishing was not too bad if that is your thing. I imagine it would be very busy in summer with boats and jet skis etc.
Very quiet last weekend .Pretty cold so no wonder!!!!
And yes we are pretty happy with the CT
