Getting the camper ready for the Cape and it came with dura hubs. Does any one use these and what oil do you use for them !!

Their web site says'' Durahub Original is designed to be used with 80/90W gear oil for lubrication. Durahub Extreme can be used with grease or 80/90W gear oil or combined 80/90W gear oil and grease'', so I guess that's the go.
Same as the trucks I use to drive, for the most part they work well, but if you break one you had better have a spare ;D

John I have 2 spares. But going into a trailer place to get some spare bearings and seek their opinion.
Stay tuned !!

I used to run the dura hubs on my trailer. Did all of the east coast to Adelaide and back and the Cape and back. I found after a while the seal lips were cutting two nice grooves in the seal face of the stub axle. I also noticed when they were removed that the clear window in the front was cracked from the Cape trip.
Brilliant idea but it could do with some mods, the seal should run on stainless steel speedy sleeve reducing the grooving from the seal lips.
I used to run the durahub oil that you get with the kits.
Regards
Angus.

I spoke to a trailer manufacturer and he said they were crap.
you can't beat bearing grease only being more reliable
