The battery in my Jeep was flat and the windscreen wipers and power window was playing up. So I rang the Jeep dealer (north of Perth, on Waneroo Road, but I won't tell you who it is yet!) and mentioned the warranty issues and booked it in for a service. I also mentioned the flat battery and asked how much it would be for a replacement, expecting it to be way too expensive and I would get one from an auto shop and fit it myself.
To my surprise - he said that the car is still under warranty so the battery would be replaced free of charge, under warranty. "BONUS" I thought, I've had a win.
So I go and pick up the car after the service and have a quick discussion with the service manager and tech who worked on the car. He said the windscreen wipers were because of the flat battery and that a whole lot of earth wires on the car body had not been tightened properly. He was a bit surly but I thought not a lot of it.
On the drive home I checked my dual battery management system. Not working. Compressor. Not working. CB. Not working. Got home, under bonnet shower. Not working.
OK I thought, maybe a simple fix, left a wire off or something of the sort. Have a look and I can't find the faults without a MAJOR removal of all of the components and possible bench tests of them, quite a deal of work for me (amateur), maybe a couple of days of farting around.
Thanks for sticking with me.
So, should the dealer make good the accessories that are now not working after they worked on the car?
I haven't spoken to the service manager yet, so I'm not bagging them. Yet.
Opinions (I know a few of you have them!) ??

Hi POD
Just wondering if the service department has actually dissconnected the extras you have added? Warranty issuses ?

Or maybe they dissconnected the earthing to the said extras ?

Well that's part of the issue. I can't work out WTF they've done. But there is nothing that says I can't have a second battery or after market accessories in the manual.

You can only ask. although I'd ask with a smile to start with, at least then if they stuff you around you'll be able to escalate.
