Hi all,
Just thought I'd share our experience at the Bridgewater-On-Loddon Tourist Park this Easter.
We'd been at the park for 2 days. All was going OK, but there had been a couple of reports from within our group of some "interesting" dealings with a woman associated with management at the park. These reports were from people who would be among the most placid people you could meet, so they raised eyebrows.
I had also very briefly come into contact with this woman on our arrival. I had mistakenly put a foot in her door, thinking it to be the park office. On realizing my error, I immediately apologized, hit reverse, and thought nothing more of it.
We were camped directly opposite the office/residence, and I noticed that most new arrivals at the park made a similar mistake.
We went for a drive for a couple of hours this morning. On our return, Ms park management immediately pounced.......clearly waiting to get stuck into me.......
She wrongly accused me of a failing to apologize for my error, dismissed my version of events, and questioned my integrity (not a good move..). This left me no alternative but to cut short our stay.....not much value in arguing with a woman that's already made up her mind.
How it all became such a huge issue is completely beyond me, but I was hung, drawn and quartered, without right of reply.
It would seem "The Inquistion" is alive and well.............and our weekend was over.
I feel better, now......
Cheers,
Geoff

Very frustrating and sorry to hear your weekend came to an abrupt end.
Whilst you can accept that caravan parks can become a pressure cooker at times, it is disappointing to hear that park management see patrons as an interruption to, rather than the purpose of their business.
Hope you have happier times elsewhere.

So, you walked into the residence andnotthe office?
Obviously not clearly marked I would guess.?
Sometimes voting with your feet does help.
Enjoy the rest of your Easter. Soundslike its not worth the agro.

Nice one. Park managers can be a law onto themselve. If you payed you should have stayed. A polite "How does go and get F#%ked sound" answer is the way to go with people like that.
-
Sadly becoming more common.
Sorry your weekend was wrecked.
We use Badgers before and after our occasional use of Caravan Parks.

Send her a link to the thread too :)
Mate who used to go camping (this episode was last straw for them) copped the same attitude from what sounds like the person... accusing him of his kids running riot around the place...
He doesnt have kids, that didnt matter to her, apparently he was full of ****...

........but wait........there's more..........
A couple of hours after we left, the remainder of the group were having their usual late afternoon gathering. These people are mostly older types.......pensioners and retirees......not a group of young rowdies.
Guess who turned up uninvited??
Instead of just letting it all go, she proceeded to upset everyone present, until the male half of the management team (who seems like a decent chap) came along and dragged her away.......... ::)
All very unnecessary..........

There is the problem right there. She hates the caravan park or the male half of the management team ... probably both. Such a shame she is giving what was probably a good place to stay (for those who like them) a very bad name.
As you've all added comments similar above ... makes me glad 'We Dont' Do CVP's' ... for these very reasons. Give me a Bush Camp anyday. We might have to be fully self contained, but we don't often suffer the problems found in CVP's. We much prefer Escapes or Retreats or Eco Reserves ... to CVP's.

How to win friends and influence people >:( >:( Geeze mate, you were a lot more patient than I would have been, pretty short fuse that sort of thing, it's so unnecessary. Sorry about the weekend.
