Hi All
I just paid a visit to Trackabouts website www.trackabout.com.au (http://www.trackabout.com.au) and it appears that the business has been sold and will be operating again after easter. According to the website, the new owners are Rob and Kym Adams.
Cheers Grant

Thats great news :cup:
On a side note - As I was reading the introduction by the new owners, I got an alarm for blocked virus attack???
has anyone else had this?
-
That is terrific news. Let's hope they join in here, as JT did and continues to do.
Edit:
Just sent them a warm welcome and congratulations. Also mentioned that the website has a trojan on it, still.
-
Sounds like the new owners are in it for the right reasons and will keep the Trackabout tradition alive :cup:
-
same here,blocked this site,russ
-
It's great to learn that a fine Australian product will continue.
-
Can someone post what the trojan is and what AV product you're using? I block flash so I'm not seeing it.

Trojan horse PHP/BackDoor.C99Shell
Thanks, could be a false positive, look like the usual threat vector is an email message...

It's possible. I recall others reporting an issue some months back.

Yep that was me, I think it is/was imbedded in the flash.
I use Trend Micro.
Great news about Trackabout reopening. :D :cup:

All the best to JT and family for the future!
As good a happy ending as ever; especially now there's hope for us Trackabout-less wannabe's (I'll get one, one day... ;D)

Excellent news.. Good luck to the new owners and hopefully JT can enjoy the beer.
-
i read this today my self and was actually quite shocked. when i got my camper off good old johny august last year he seemed keen to stay in there for a while yet. but i guess all good things must come to an end.
as long as the new owners continue to produce the quality jt had going i dont see any issues. might have to get onto them later on actually to make up a couple of closed in walls for the annex.
-
Great news. Congrats for the future.
-
EXXXXXXCELLENT.

WoooooooHooooooooo
Go the Trackie

Good news indeed, I hope that JT got something after the taxman took his share.

Good news for sure, great company, great product and good news for all Trackabout owners!
-
What a relief for JT and all Trackabout owners. Just the best news of the week.
Cheers
Louise ;D ;D ;D

I don't know much about the Trackabout, not having researched it so are they up there with quality build etc? I am in the market for a Mountain Trail or Complete Campsite but open to suggestions re Trackabout.
Wayne :police:
-
Quality has been A1, and the designs are excellent. I wouldn't position them with Mountain Trail and Complete Campsite, those two manufacturers have gone more upmarket in terms of options fitted, though the Dakar was definitely a competitor in this regard. The price difference between the brands also reflected this.

That's the best news we've heard for ages!!
Had the tracky up in the backyard on the weekend (first fine weather for ages) - just checking the canvas for mould after such a long wet spell - not a hint of it! While we were "playing" with our tracky, I lamented the closure of the business, so we're stoked to hear it opening again. Awesome!
All the best Rob and Kim. As long as the quality is still there you won't go wrong.
All the best to John and family too.
Cheers

That is great news!
Now, does that mean all current warranties are still covered? I still got 12 months on mine, not that I'll need it, but just good to know it's there.
-
Brilliant news !!!!!

Now that's put a smile on my face!!

That's great news.
It however puts me in a dilemma now.
We were just about to order the jimboomba explorer with gourmet kitchen and other accessories that brought it in.at $23000.
Now trackabout are back in the scene ( my original choice ) with the sv extenda , I don't know what do??
Gonna be a few decisions to make ...

Ah and yes, now that i'm a proud Trackabout owner......... I'll say ALL THE BEST TO ROB N KYM!!!!!!!! GO THE TRACKABOUT!!... i like this bit of info from the home page of the Trackabout website............... "in a nutshell Trackabout will be exactly the same."......................... that's great news.
Guess the proof will be in the pudding.......... but it's sounds like they are kicking off with the right idea.
All the best.

That's great news, thanks for the info.
Read somewhere on here that the new owners are reading this forum, so if you are reading this now new owners I wish you all the best with the business, it is an awesome thing you have done to take over trackabout and bring back the old staff, because they are the heart and soul of the company.
I hope you are well aware of the long standing tradition that a free icy-cold beer must be handed to all myswaggers immediately upon entry to the trackabout office. And then, upon request, another must be proffered to said myswaggers until such time as they get the swaggers...
Anyway, well done and good luck. Trackabout is an Aussie icon, and it must prevail!
-
Well that is good news. I just might get a Trackabout now.
Wayne
-
I just hope JT is doing OK now..
Hope he keeps his finger in the pie on the forum here too...
I think everyone thinks highly of him... You dont get a name and reputation like Trackabout by selling your customers trailers with Shit covers on them.
-
by selling your customers trailers with **** covers on them.
PMSL @ Lost, mate some of your best work :cup:

Well that is good news. I just might get a Trackabout now.
I would.
Oh wait, I did. ;D
Congratulations to Rob & Kym, I wish you all the best as the new owners. I'm sure you'll go from strength to strength.
Cheers!
Matto :)
