Title: Autobarn - Warn Stockists
Post by: Matto on March 20, 2012, 03:37:16 PM
Hi crew,

Just throwing this out there in case it's news. There's a new Autobarn catalogue at work, and on the second page there's a heap of Warn gear. Including a XD9000 winch for around $1500. Now, it's been a while since I priced any Warn gear, but that strikes me as significantly less than what ARB will charge you. From memory, that winch was up around the $2100-$2500 mark.

They had a whole range of Warn recovery gear, gloves, straps, bags, snatch blocks, etc. Catalogue is here: http://www.autobarn.com.au/catalogue#cat/show/4f62a0a44b7af (http://www.autobarn.com.au/catalogue#cat/show/4f62a0a44b7af)

I did a search and couldn't find any info, so thought I'd put it up to see if anyone knows any more about it.

Cheers!
Matto :)

There was a Warn decal-covered 4by outside Fountain Gate Autobarn when we were in the area a few weeks ago.  I didn't realise they hard Warn gear.

Autobarn in Pakenham have been advertising Warn winches on there street sign for a few weeks now. It did strike me as a little strange.

It was more like the  "WALL OF WARN".

There were some black warn boxes on one pallet, not to sure what they were

Mate

I've got the Autobarn catalogue here in front of me just looking at it now, and yeah, there's like half a page of just Warn stuff...V9500 $699, Snatch block $75, full recovery kit $199; seems good to me!

The XD9000 has always been around the $1500 mark it is the 9.5XP that is $2100+ due to 6hp motor and the o-ringed drive and gearbox for superior protection against water ingress.

The Autobarns pricing is similar to other Warn retailers.

Ahhh - I must have been thinking of the 9.5XP then. My mistake - I'm about as far from a Warn expert as you can get. Thanks for clarifying Brett!

Cheers!

Appears the recovery gear is Warn 'licensed' imported by Ateco hence the 'made in China'. The recovery gear I have seen in the US is 'made in the USA'. I'm tempted to get a recovery bag to see what the quality is like.

Autobarn.

Stepped in there the other day for the $20 seatcover and floor mat special.
Cover up all the grass clippings in the truck.
Yeah, I know I should empty the catcher into the trailer, but the wind does blow sometimes.

Anyway, got the seatcovers and wandered down to the parts counter.
Might as well order the rocker cover caskets while I'm here. Save some oil.
Bloke behind the counter knew what I was talking about. Said he used to be a mechanic.
Knew all about the hour and a half to pull everything down to get to the rocker covers.
Then the same time to put it back together again.
Order was done. Full kit, 2 gaskets plus 6 plug rings for a Triton 3l v6 6G72 motor.

2 days later I got the call they had arrived.

What a waste of time and effort.
They only had 1 side and for a 6G74 motor.
"Don't know what happened. Must have been the girl putting the order thru. I'll put it thru again."
"forget it." was the reply.

Drove 2 blocks down Redland Bay Rd. 10 minutes in Burson's and walked out with the full kit.

Just have to find the half day to do the job now.

Autobarn now added to supercrap as places to avoid.

Yeah Gee.

After I posted it I thought it may have been better off in the rant thread.

Thanks for the WARNing.
