Or Jeep electrics.

I hate to hose you down on this but both the "Ford" and "Holden" are the same chassis and are nothing to do with a road car. They are purpose built, fabricated race cars. In fact the Holden door size had to be shortened in the race car to fit homologation. The engines are different too. The current Holden V8 used in a Commodore is a 6 Litre and in the Ford they have only a 4 Litre 6 cylinder in the 2011 model (according to redbook) with a 5 Litre supercharged iteration in the FPV. ALL V8 supercars have 5 Litre motors mostly custom machined parts etc

Did you know it still costs less to build a V8 Supercar than it did to build that monstrosity LOL..
"I'll keep racing but you lot are a bunch of arseholes" >:D
They banned em cos almost no one could afford to race one.. (anyone remember Group B rally cars?) They banned em because to compete with a sports car you need to run a sports car and Australian manufacturing does not build sports cars and Australian's are not sports car people.. If they were then V8's wouldn't be so popular.
If you want to watch sports cars, get Fox and watch the European Sports car championship.

Now thats bringing back some memories :D Good ole Jim Richards
-
Joff if that was the case then why ban them, why not let it take it's natural course, and let them die out? and with regards to the v8 super cars nissan/datsun have made V8 salon cars since the 1965, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_President
4years before holden did but no not in the v8 supercars.
I liked it with all the different classes in the one race at bathurst, it was better for the motor industry as a whole and gave everyone some thing to show off.

Yeah and that has SFA to do with any Ford or Holden. If you had modified street cars like the original australian touring car championship, then you would be able to call them Fords and Holdens. These V8s are purpose built race cars. They are, though, great entertainment and that is what they are designed to be. I wonder what will happen when the Falcon goes front wheel drive in a few years
-
Yeah. I gave up on that and just go for the drivers I like now. GO LOWNDESY!!
+1, the drivers swap teams so much these days anyway...
Lowndesy's a legend, I Like Ingall as well, especially when he and skaifey had a crack, which was most races if they were close!!

Yeah! and?? means; So what, everyone knows that but it still don't seem to matter. It's a great specticle regardless
I mean, lets get real here. It's 2011, we will follow the same footy team year in year out but very few of the key players we shout for played for that team 2 years ago and most likely won't in 2 years from now.. It doesn't matter the detail, we root for our team regardless of what is under the guernsey, or under the bonnet for that matter :cup:

I must be a turn coat because I followed Lowndesy in both holden and ford
