I have only recently joined myswag as Hubby and I are looking a buying a camper trailer. After the last 2 camping trips where it rained most of the time and with a 3 year old we are after a bit of luxury.
The looking for a suitable camper trailer is currently involving lots of research and am suffering bit of information overload. Because there are just so many trailers out there. So would love some advice.
At this stage we have a budget of under 10k. And at the moment we don't own a 4wd, our car is a Magna AWD. (Although we are potentially looking at getting an Xtrail or similar soft roader in the next 12-24 months), so don't want anything too heavy.
We would prefer to buy something that is within a days drive of Canberra so if we have warranty issues, it isn't too far to get it fixed.
At this stage we just want the trailer to use for weekends and 1-3 week trips away. It needs to have enough room for our 3 year old plus a couple of extra kids.

Welcome to the land of confusion. There are just soooooooooooooooooo many types of camper that will suit your needs. My suggestion is take your time, take a panadol and look at the classifieds. By all means buy new, if you know what you really want, but there are always many pre-loved offerings available that will suit your initial needs. BTW Tambos are the greatest!!!!!
Regards
Mark

Welcome to myswag CTnewbie! You should be able to get a good soft floor camper that suits your budget. Keep an eye on the trader section as there are some great 2nd hand units available.

Welcome to the Forum, as others have said I would keep my eye open for a second hand camper that has already been customised. Good luck in your search and ask away if you need any info

Hi CTnewbie.
Nice to se another Canberran on here. THere are heaps of CT's to choose from, and if you can't get answers to your questions on here, then there probably isn't an answer.
You're welcome to check out my Lifestyle camper anytime. I'm in Tuggeranong...
Good luck with your research. :)

Hi and welcome to another Canberra local.
We've been down a similar path and are now in our version of CT nirvana with our third CT.
There is certainly plenty of choice now which is good although mind boggling at times.
Second hand is always a good option for a first CT.
Have a look at "the other group's" trader page - you'll often find a good deal and it will give you a good idea of the market value of second hand CTs.

Good luck

G'day guys and welcome.
I reckon the Rosehill show will be a good place to get an idea on what you're looking for. Good luck with your decision as there's plenty of fantastic CT's around.

G'day & Welcome.
In that price range I believe you'll get best value out of a 2nd hand camper. Best of luck in your search.
