Last year I had to say goodbye to my mate Kanga the cat after 21 years I believe we and animals go to a better place. One for you Casper

I searched the internet a little while ago for poems to explain where our pets go to kids etc... when our (my ex's) Old English Sheep Dog, Clementine was put down.....
Some nice poems exist.
Makes me tear up every time.
May you find peace and even find a smile in the memories of your friend.

Sad news mate Casper was an amazing looking dog and I bet have some amazing memories I dread the day I will feel your pain but I know it's not to far away
-
Sorry to hear that mate. We lost our 4yr old pug a couple of months ago and we're still pretty upset.
I'm sure Casper is in a better place, and you guys will be re-united one day.
All the best.

Thinking of you all, we lost our old boy 18 mnths ago

Commiserations mate. I feel your pain.
Isn't it amazing how connected we as humans get to our pets.
We nurse them when their pups, watch them grow up, love them to death, protect them from harm and always do the best we can for them like we do for our kids. Their love for us is unconditional and you cant find that in any other living being.
From time to time they leave us prematurely and other times nature takes its course.
Life sucks sometimes.....
Mate do yourself a favour and get another as soon as you can. Although he cannot be replaced a pup will bring newfound happinnes and joy to the family and will help in healing some of the heartbreak.
RIP CASPER
All the best mate
cheers John

Sorry for your loss of your mate Casper. We know your pain mate.
Here are a couple of worfd that may help................................
Senator Vest's "Tribute to the Dog"
"Gentlemen of the jury: the best friend a man has in the world may turn against him and become his worst enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name, may become traitors to their faith. The money that man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it the most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads.
The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him and the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous... is his dog.
Gentlemen of the Jury: a man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounters with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens. If fortune drives the master forth an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him to guard against danger, to fight against his enemies, and when the last scene of all comes, and death takes the master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death."
RIP CASPER

I remember a good friend sent me this a while ago when I needed it
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I believe that Casper is swapping camping stories with my Donna & Trixie as they show him round his new home.

Sorry to hear about your dog...
Bill and Morag

Sorry to hear about your faithful four -legged friend, Casper. It`s hard to lose a pet when they are such
an integral part of our lives. Thinking about you and your family at this time.
Robyn.

Yes, it is very hard to say goodbye, I've done it 2 times, both to Cavies, burried them whilst balling and slobbering at the same time, but we got another one 8 years ago and she was lonely, so we got another one, now we have 2 Cavies and Kayleen and me love them dearly.
Dogs are just a special part of the family, they welcome you home after a hard day, with their eyes smiling and tails wagging, they don't say"Are we there yet?" when travelling and of all the kids, our 2 Cavie dogs are the best behaved.
As it happens in sad times involving death of a loved one, you get through the event but you never get over it.
Reflect Caspers life with you and your family over a wine and some tears, give yourself some grieving time, then go and get another if you want.
Time heals, best of luck.

RIP Casper reading this is very hard I had to say goodbye to my 2 boys one in November and one only 2 weeks ago aged 14 and 15
Very sad tear up everytime I think about them
-
Thankyou everyone for your truly kind words and support in this very sad time for me and my family, this forum contains some genuinely wonderful people that I am proud to call friends even though we have not met face to face yet.
Yesterday I laid to rest my great friend of ten years, now forever protected from this world amongst soil mixed with tears, today my focus is on our years together my everfaithful mate, all those forgotten memories will come back if I wait, I now realise you did not leave us behind as you are now forever in the back of our mind. So now my old mate, enjoy your time on the meadows and hills at Rainbow Bridge together with your new friends, and oneday we shall meet again.

I feel your loss Bubba.
I lost Digger a few years ago, but even now I'm in tears ... those tributes really touch me in the place where Digger lives in my heart. He'll always be there ... just out of reach ... but always there. I have a fridge magnet that reads: When nobody else loves you ... your dog always will. No truer words were written.

Run Free Casper
"In the Candle's Glow"
Warm light coming from far below,
Twinkling, sparkling is the candle's glow.
All is well up on the ridge,
The place we know as Rainbow Bridge.
Furbabies sleeping in heaven's light,
Tended by candles in the night.
Peaceful dreams be theirs to keep,
As they slumber in this night so deep.
Hearts on earth that miss them so,
Take comfort in the candle's glow.
Watching for them in skies above,
Bound eternally by a cord of love.
