Title: Dargo - Eaglevale?
Post by: T Man on February 24, 2011, 08:34:03 PM
Anyone been through the crossing at eaglevale lately?
Going over to Dargo on the weekend and  might go through that way if it's not too deep.

TIA, Graeme.

This was on or about the 24th January 2011 but they've had a lot of rain since then.  (Sorry not very up-to-date) :-[

There's been a fair bit of rain up there - on the 'other' side the Macalister river is flowing very strongly. A work mate  :police: is up at Dargo as I type and he'll check it out either tonight or in the morning....I'll post the up-to-date heights when I get them (soon).

Thanks Tim.
It's always been pretty good at this time of the year but I didn't know how much rain there had been.
We're going early in the morning (yeah I should have asked earlier in the week but been busy getting ready :-[).
I guess if it looks to deep when we get there we can always turn around, or send someone else through first. >:D
We have 8 cars behind me and it will be the first time I'll have tried a river crossing in my petrol cruiser.

T Man,

Hopefully you got on ok - my work mate didn't make it to the crossing as he was diverted to another incident. Bit of rain around today but nothing too heavy.

Ended up not going through eaglevale, had some brake and temp issues so took a more direct route through winchester. :-[
Came across a hilux today "parked" off the side of the road near Grant. :o

Heard back from work mate today. He got to the crossing and spoke to a couple of drivers that had just come through. It was up a bit and flowing well. River was bonnet depth. The climb out on the south side has chopped up a lot and is now very rutted. The guys that crossed thought they may have had to winch out.

We've had a bit more rain today but I reckon the rivers will be falling now - in case anyone is going this weekend.  ;D

Thanks again Tim.
Probably a good thing we ended up not going that way then, one car didn't have a snorkle.
