Had an e-mail come through from one of the camping mobs.

One of things it mentioned was about where to camp "near Brisbane" (although I don't know why you'd want to ??? >:D)

https://www.letsgocaravanandcamping.com.au/news/where-to-camp-near-brisbane/

OK, a caravan park only ~10 minutes out of the city, sure

Big 4 Caloundra & Gold Coast ??? Both an hour away so not really "near" ???

Lake Somerset ??? - 2 hours & 120k ::)

Borumba Deer Park, back of the Sunshine Coast :-\ - 2.5 hours / 200k :o

& best of all ...

Hervey Bay!!!  :o ::)

4 hours & 300k away is not what I would call "near" to Brisbane! ???

we have different opinions on whats 'close'..

120klms is nothing
1 hours I'd call back yard
3 hours is usual to get to most camps round here.
... peak hour or getting out of city can be 1-2 hours on its own LOL

Reading this article about the weather at Easter:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-04-07/australia-easter-weather-forecast-history-archives/102187556

& now for a truly Earth-shattering bit of info ...

Easter is a moveable feast, occurring on different dates each year. It's observed on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25, so there really isn't such a thing as typical Easter weather.

But wait for it ...

But there is evidence of it being hotter the earlier it comes in autumn

Remember folks, you heard it here first - the closer it gets to winter, the higher the chance of the weather getting cooler! ::)

Who woulda thunk it ??? ;D

Easter is a moveable feast, occurring on different dates each year. It's observed on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25,

This made me smile. When we were planning our wedding way back (28 years ago) i had the clever idea that let's have it on Easter Saturday so people could travel etc. The wife to be thought this was a great idea but what I didn't tell her at the time it was my sneaky way so that I would never forget the anniversary (how could I if on Easter Saturday). Wasn't until the following year that I came to the realisation that Easter doesn't fall on the same date and don't think it has ever since  ;D

I did eventually admit to the boss that I had an ulterior motive and she just rolled her eyes (could see the word d**khead in her face) and we still laugh about it every Easter Saturday.

After putting the 3" lift in, I forgot that I had the chainsaw in it's case in the roof basket, drove under the shopping centre.
The noise it made as it hit the hight bar, scared the crap out of alot  of people. :)

Hi,
   I tested the height bar one quiet wet night with permission of the Hobart City Council Carpark staff.
I was about 75 mm over height at the chained height bar, (so set off loud alarm bells) and could manoeuvre through most of the parking spaces (very very slowly).
The tradie bar touched at a couple of places but I only wanted to see if it was doable. I would leave the bar off for an actual park with traffic.
Cheers
