Maggots are out and about

Queensland Police Minister Mark Ryan has described the people behind three reported looting incidents across the state’s south-east as “grubs”.

Commissioner Katarina Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that the three burglary incidents had been reported in flood affected areas Goodna, Bundamba and Blackstone around Ipswich, west of Brisbane.

A man has been arrested and charged over one incident, with investigations into the other two ongoing.

An angered Mr Ryan spoke soon after, saying that police would find those responsible for the actions and put them before the courts.

“If you’re thieving from them [people whose homes have flooded], you’re not a Queenslander, you’re a grub.”  :cup:

Thankfully all we got from it was another good drenching, but just down the road at Beaudesert they got 54mm in 1/2 hour and 9cm hail.

So it started raining ~midnight Sunday, then didn't ease off till ~4am this morning so 28 hours of fairly solid rain.

Yesterday morning we'd had 37mm, then emptied another 89 during the day, 62mm at 9pm last night, then poured out another 149mm at 7 this morning, making 302mm since yesterday morning, or 339mm for 31 hours!!! :o :o :o

& now, after a few hours break, it's raining again ::)

My heart goes out to those people who are still trying to clean up after last month's effort :'(

Oh well, here we go again with what is called a rain bomb these days.  ::)

We'll see it start to really kick in tomorrow after a few days of showers. (only 45mm to 6am yesterday)

Anyone north of Rocky will cop it hard..... so say all the weather guru's.

130mm here, since midnight. Some minor flooding and road closures. All the district, property dams have been full for a while and the ground saturated, so there's a lot of run off.

I only record the rainfall when i know its going to be big.

Late Feb... 633mm
This week. 261mm so far, but i think we're nearly done now.

I gotta say, 900mm of rain over those two periods has made for a soggy lawn at the moment.

We're still flooded in, but all good at the Jeepers house itself.  :cup:

From 00:00 Wed 11th to 08:00 today = 375mm.
Looking at the BOM radar, it appears to be dispersing somewhat. :D
