Hi,

This is Queensland calling.
We just wanted to ask if Melbourne wouldn't mind please coming and collecting your weather?
You seam to have misplaced your cold drizzly rubbish up here today, it would be appreciated if you could take it back tomorrow.

Thanks.
 ;D
wasn't that bad of a day at Capalaba, I was doing roofing up until about 2 p.m....had a shower of rain as I had lunch around 11.30 and it only started looking ordinary later in the arvo. The city looked to be getting abit more rain though, could hear thunder there for a while. Heard places up the coast got 60mm today, my place on Brisbane Southside got about 4mm, and Capalaba wouldn't have had 1mm up till 5 p.m.

Beach weather coming up...

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting up to 15 millimetres of rain for Thursday, with another 25 to 80 millimetres expected on Friday - almost up to double the average May rainfall of 56 millimetres.

And just like that the BoM have changed the forecast, no more Armageddon, 2-6mm on Thursday, 10-25 on Friday and 0-0.4 on Sat, crisis averted.

Its going to be a long weekend....

Law library houses many irreplaceable books. Staff offices 40 cm deep in water.

12 month old data centre in engineering building lost along with research hardware, probably $5 million insurance claim right there alone.

Back tomorrow to try and bring 25 or so buildings back to life so we can get clean up crews into them......

Happy days.

Probably going to have to relocate 200 plus staff all up during clean up...  by Monday!

Here is a tip, dont feed data centre ventilation systems  from beneath as all the high pressure fans do is force all the water pooled below up into the new $3million super computer like a fountain.....

Hi,
Well no power for about 22 hours so far. We got off lightly, all my drains and retaining walls worked.
Not much solar, so we lit the stove for warmth and ran the hot water radiator circulating pump from a generator. Plenty of Watts left to run some lights and the TV.
No enough to run just the fridge though with only 700W.
Some of the neighbours have moved out for the night as power is not expected to be back till tomorrow.
Still, can't complain, we are warm and dry.
Cheers
