And as a cyclist I think Im less tolerant of other cyclists doing the wrong thing, it is probably more obvious just how wrong/bad some are. I reckon some drivers might have thought they were in the wrong if they faced the same situation. But cyclists, 4wder's, camper's, Toyota drivers, there are always a few that ruin it for us perfect ones!

I can see why car driver's are annoyed with cyclists after my run in with angry commuter cyclist this morning.

Turning left with my indicator on, I see a bike rider in my rear mirror about 50m away with his 400 LEDs flashing racing down the bike lane. As I go to turn the corner he starts trying to smash my LHS tail light with his fist. As I have right of way, I turned the corner to which he starts hurling abuse that I nearly killed him. I stopped quickly around the corner and walked over to where he had stopped and was ranting to any pedestrian that would listen.

In a slow but forceful tone, I said "I'm going to tell you 3 things, 1 - see the bike racks on my car roof, I am a cyclist too and I know the road rules which you obviously don't, 2 - I have right of way as my left hand indicator was on, you had plenty of time to slow down instead you sped up to try and pass on the inside, I can therefore have you booked for failure to give way, 3 - I can also have you booked for wilful damage for trying to smash my tail light. Now get back on your bike and f!@K off, next time you try and be a dick at least know and understand the road rules."

As I walked back to my car the pedestrians who where trying to lynch me previously nodded and said nice job.
happens all the time at West End in Brisbane....apparently the 50kph sign doesn’t apply to cyclists as they come down the big hill on Doorknock Pde (I think it’s called), amazing how quickly they lock the brakes up though as I turn left with my work trailer on the back of the 4wd.

Took dog trail riding again today - she goes good; this was only her 3rd ride, and we're doing about 8km each ride at the moment:

Still need to make a more stable bike rack for the boot though as she gets worried the bikes are going to land on her:

Washed and cleaned the bike today as it was a wet and crappy day.

Then get a text from my riding buddy to go out and ride. Why not. 18 k's around Lysterfield and a bit of rain and a lot of mud. Fun times.

She runs - tops out quite happily just over 25km/h, and will hold that for short bursts. Runs either in front (about 10m ahead) or off to the side/behind, depending on where she detoured to... Works on the whistle, so 2 pips of that and she's back to you - even pulling her off cattle (there's some grazing where we ride). We'll slowly stretch out the ride lengths I think, but at the moment 8km is quite a good distance for her. The challenge is she gets a bit thirsty as we go along, so I may need to sort out dog hydration.

Yep it was a bit iffy in a few spots but the bike and tyres never let me down, the bloody downhiller in me does not know when to slow down, although Aneurysm was taken a bit slower than normal

Its $45 for a three hour time slot, two sessions daily 10-1 and 1-4 will be interesting to see how it does. At the moment its only mid week.

Used to walk up and down there a lot when i had my van at Dromana, if they are using the track that runs parallel and just below the road it should be a good one

hope this is of interest to some here for both the bicycle and the 4wd content.

A bunch of fatbike riders (all ex Simpson Desert Bike Challenge veterans), left Billiluna on the 7th of July bound for Wiluna via the Canning Stock Route.

They are being fully supported by a group of 4wds. (this is not an endurance/bikepacking thing... they just want to ride the track)

I just received a satphone update and they are currently camped at well 45. (doing some routine maintenance to the bikes)

The expect to arrive at well 33 by Sunday. Currently averaging around 100klm a day.

They're looking forward to the detour around the flooded section at well 25.
