The fog has lifted
« on: February 02, 2013, 03:22:42 PM »
G'Day Swaggers,

We've had our OB Eagle for a couple of years now and done over 20,000km with it around Oz but I have learnt more about it in the last month from this site than the whole time I've owned it. Awesome.

Problems that have been hanging over my head all that time have all been solved on here. Thanks to all those who have unknowingly helped.

Look forward to many more fun and informative discussions.

Andymac,
welcome to the forum. It does have a huge amount of experience to offer.

But considering the distance you have done, I am sure you would have plenty of experiences and photos to share. So don't hesitate.   ;D ;D

Tell us about your setup. Camper AND car.

For every situation you have 3 choices. Live with it, change it, or leave it. But only pick one

Welcome.

Dont forget, pictures of camper and tug, AND all trip reports and photos of the places you have seen along your 20,000km travels, have to be one or two, surely :)

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Just searching through some old threads to learn how to upload photos then will get some of our set up on here.

If anyone is happy to give me a quick lesson though it would be greatly appreciated.

If just a couple of photos, when you are in the reply to topic window, click on additional options (under text box) and attach the photos (one at a time) using the browse button.  If more than a few, check out the help threads.

Thanks KB. Will give that a go. First attempt wasn't too successful by the look of it.

Yay, Success at last.

This is our camper and tug last year on the road between Windorah and Birdsville.

In 2010 we did a trip up the middle to Darwin and back. Highlights included Kakadu (stayed with friends who live there so we got the "locals" version of Kakadu), Daly Waters Pub, West McDonnell Ranges, Mereenie Loop, Kings Canyon and Devil's Marbles. This was done in a tent pre Jayco. Watching everyone else set up every style of CT you can think of over the 6 weeks is what prompted the purchase.

2011 we took the newly acquired CT on a 2 week lap of Tassie. Beautiful and easy driving but I am an outback kinda guy so later that year we did another 2 weeker to Flinders Ranges, Arkaroola, Stryzlecki, Innaminka, Cameron Corner, Broken Hill.

Met a great family from Brissy on that trip so in 2012 hooked up with them to do a lap of QLD. Highlights were Carnarvon Gorge, camping on Cooper creek at Windorah, Birdsville and Big Red (Yes Simpson Desert, I will be back), Lawn Hill NP, Undara Lava Tubes, Cooktown and the Bloomfield Track (I won't leave you out next time Cape York), Great Barrier Reef & Inskip Point.

Anyway that's the quick bio. Look forward to expanding and discussing further with like minded folk. We just love this camper touring thing. See you out there.
