For ages I had been looking for a bike carrier I could interchange between my camping trailer and vehicle with lots of other tick box requirements as you will see in my review.

Eventually I came across ISI Bike Carriers and have been using this system for over a year now and love it.

These are awesome racks, just purchased the 4x4x4 model..
Just need to get the trailer modified with a suitable mount.. keen to see some more photos of how you have it mounted on the drawbar.

as I've posted in many previous threads, we also have an iSi rack.

Initially it was fitted to the back of our 105 series and in that time it crossed the Simpson twice, the Anne Beadel once and more smaller tracks and outback trips than I can count. Not a single problem.

And unlike many rear of car mounted racks, not one piece of plastic in the construction and most importantly (to me at least), the rack doesn't impede the approach or departure angles of the car.

We now have it fitted to the back of the "half an 80 series" camper (in the tow hitch receiver) and it's been perfect. Up high, out of the way and tougher than many 4wd accessories...

Also, if you really want a custom mount, George at iSi is more than willing to talk to you and help with custom designs to suit different campers if required.

I think it is a great bike rack, a little expensive but very handy and easy to fit bikes. Easily changed between Tug and Campervan.

Considering the value of the bikes and thebdiffernet sizes used on the rack, definitely not over priced...

We are not talking K-mart spec bikes being carrier on an $80 rack.

Thule roof rack carrier work out to be about 300 per bike.

The ISI carrier allow us to carry any bike from the kids race BMX's to the family's collection of MTB's (20in, 24in, 27.5in and 29in wheels)

you left out fatbikes with 5.05" wide tyres on 100mm wide 26" rims.

True... still to a fat bike to the stable ... 7yr is keen for one.

Totally agree...replacement cost of out bikes would be $25k for the two MTB and two road bikes.

We are currently working on a solution for our MTB on a swing away spare wheel carrier.

Well, I know when I am wrong.
Been googling for bike carriers that work with twin wheel carriers and there are not many, if any better than ISI.
I cannot carrier on the roof because I have a kayak and rooftop tent on it.

Anyway, I was wrong and I can proof it - I've order a set!

Can I ask where you got the stand for the rack built?

I had one made up at a local steel engineering place, gave them some measurements on a drawing with a spare ISI hitch and this is the result

The bracket is a bit of over engineering but it's going to last. Bracket all fitted up and bolted down

Cant beat the design of the carrier. When I fitted mine to front of my trailer, I mounted it on a flangeless hub to allow the arm to pivot. It makes for easy access to front boxes and loading bikes.

The hub has a positioning pin that stops rotation at 90 degree intervals.

Do you get much bounce with the bikes. Have mine on the draw bar, but have noticed that they tend to bound a bit... the post may not have been large enough..

No real bounce. They sit better on the trailer than when on the car. The post is ultra strong so thats probably helping. Just did 3000k with them on and no problems at all.
