Hello from Weipa
« on: June 14, 2016, 04:34:12 AM »
Hi all,
Been a lurker for a while have been trying to narrow down my search for a camper. Currently looking for a secondhand aussie made hard floor. Loving and hating the amount of information available on this forum. Makes my decision easier but harder at the same time 😅.
Cheers,
Aurian.

Had a great few days in Weipa recently, welcome to the forum. Did the mine tour, not what we were expecting.  No big holes  ;D  Had my birthday lunch at the Albatross, good food!   Kevin

Hey Sol it is bloody terrible. I try and have a few drinks and kick back but can never manage it. Always got some fish distracting me  ;D

Hi Kevin. Haha yeah it is a different style. I am an operator at East Weipa. Some vast areas out here. The new mine they are opening is going to be deeper mine faces but nothing like the coal mines that most people picture.

Gday Aurian..used to work as a trainee on the bauxite ships that went from Gladstone to Weipa.. Had many good times up the road at the golf course and bowls club! Nice people up your way. Met a few commercial fishos who used to come onboard for a bbq and trade us a few fish
