Title: Newbie to Campers
Post by: Andrew1jz on November 03, 2011, 05:42:52 PM
Hi all,

Am new to the site, but have been looking at campers since my last girlfriend (seemed like a good idea at the time).  I have continued to research and like some other members on the site, couldn't find anything that I really liked, so decided to build one myself.  I started sourcing parts earlier this year and started the welding work in Aug, with still quite a lot to do.  The design was sourced on eBay (CD) as a starting point, but much of that got thrown out apart from the main Chassis and even that got modified to fit tanks.

I'm 42 and divorced with the kids about to leave home (they have been living with me for a long time and finish school at the end of next year) so I also recently bought a Pathfinder (2011 ST-L Manual).  I want to see some of this great country and what better way to do it.  I am also a bit of an amateur photographer and enjoy it immensely.

I have also joined one of the Pathfinder sites to learn a little more about it too.

Cheers,

Andrew

Noting the emoticons about photos, here are a couple of the camper in it's current state (worked on today).  If you are interested in earlier photos, let me know (they are larger size, so will have to resize to fit on here)

The tent you can make out in the second photo leaning against the wall.  It's an Oztrail 12.  Might be a bit big for my needs, but it was at the right price.  From the bookings I'm getting from my brother and parents, I might actually need it!!

The neat garage is just one of those things.  I like to work without tripping over stuff and a cleanup at the end of the day just makes you feel better.  I do a lot of mechanical stuff in the shed so last thing I need to do is have to clean up first.  As said earlier - no wife, so this space is mine!!
