Dont these new phones have a GPS search alert thingo if they get lost ? .. maybe the sim card could be read by a telstra shop ? .
I found an Iphone on the track leading onto Stockton Beach, about 12 months ago. Screen was pretty smashed, but luckily it was still operable, and wasn't locked. Checked out the the call list, I can't remember how I even found it, because I don't use Iphones, then called the most recent number, which had a few missed calls from.
Turned out to be someone who was camping with the bloke who lost his phone,and they had been searching for over an hour around where they were camped. I told them where I was and they drove back out to get it. Bloke was pretty chuffed, offered me $60.00 as a reward, but I settled for a cold beer that they seemed to have an ample supply of.
