Remembering those who served

Thought it might be nice to share pics of some who served / hopefuly it wont bring sorrow or  pain to anyone .
My dad circa 1942 ?

My Grandfather (Mum's Dad). Enlisted February 1942. One month after his 22nd birthday. By September 1942 he was in New Guinea.

My dad
Enlisted June 1940 discharged Sept 1946. Served 2310 days, 709 days on home soil and 1328 days overseas in the Middle East, Europe and New Guinea,  I was entrusted with his war photo album which i go thru every Anzac day so i included a couple of photos of him at work he was a gunner . Lost the FIL not long ago, he was a great mate that served in the South Pacific, NZ Navy, first Anzac day without him

Thinking of the both of them and all their mates

Sorry they are sideways, don't know how to turn them

My great uncle on my mothers side, Private Albert James Voller of Eaglehawk Bendigo who served at Gallipoli.
Born 11/11/1893
Died 29/11/1915
Served with the 24 Australian Infantry
Buried at Browns Dip Cemetery 500m from Anzac Cove, exhumed and moved to Lone Pine in 1923
This photo taken 14 days before his death

My Grandfather  [ smoking  ] veteran of Gallipoli re-enlisted  to do it again in WW2 with his brother .
My eldest brother receiving " Teeny Weeny Airlines Wings " and a bottle of sparkly wine for being the 1000 th passenger flown. oct 1966 .
