He also said the canopy is re-enforced inside with a load rated roll cage so all the weight is transferred to the tray.  Nothing is sitting on the vehicle roof.

A while back someone posted a pic of their docket for cashing in empty cans. I think mine beats it  ;D. I sent a txt to the grandkids to show them what they missed out on, when I asked them if they wanted to help nan cash in the empties, and they could have the money, But they didn't want to.. They weren't impressed.. LOL

A new car! ;D

I've mentioned that the Territory had been annoying us with a niggly little unfindable fault, that would turn the power steering off, but which nobody (including 2 Ford dealers!) has been able to track down :'( >:(

In the couple of weeks just before we left on our trip, it played up just about every time we started the car, so I said then, that as soon as we get home, we're replacing the car!

Strangely enough, it only played up once on the entire trip, right up till the last week, when the steering, & also the reverse sensors, starting hiccuping again.

Earlier, when we'd said we were going to change cars, BiL mentioned that a mate of his (whom we've also met while camping ;D) was talking about getting rid of his MU-X, due to health issues, so we said please keep us posted!

Talking to BiL during that last week, when it was playing up again, he said that Paul had decided to sell teh car later this year, knew we were interested, so would keep us in mind.

Then got a call from BiL, Thursday last week, to say Paul had decided to sell right away, so would we like to give him a ring!

Went down, checked it out & said yes, please :cup:

2017 LST (top of the range), 4-cyl 3l turbo diesel, which he'd set-up for a trip to the Cape with bull bar, 9" spots, HD recovery points, 2" lift, alloy wheels, brand new tyres, 12000lb winch, 2-way, 100Ah auxillary battery via DC-DC charger, roof rack & awning (including walls & floor!). Unfortunately though, Covid hit when they were due to leave, then he had heart problems & has now got Parkinson's, so their travelling days are over :'(

To be honest, it's probably way too much car for us, as we're not likely to ever make use of all of that, but, at $37500, it was way too good an offer to knock back!

Picked it up yesterday (& it's actually slightly smaller than the Territory, so fits better in the garage! ;D).

Will now have to try to sort out the Territory's issues & sell that, possibly even to Ford ??? (although I know they won't give us much >:()

Hey Fizzie, I think you should stick it on a set of scales pretty quick. With all those add ons that's a lot of extra weight. Stick 2 adults, a full tank of fuel, an esky with a couple of sanga's and drinks and there won't be much left if you're going to tow anything.

Just spotted this on another forum:

A friend went to Beijing recently and was given this brochure by the hotel. It is precious.
She is keeping it and reading it whenever she feels depressed.
Obviously, it has been translated directly, word for word from Mandarin to English.

"Getting There:
Our representative will make you wait at the airport. The bus to the hotel runs along the lake shore. Soon you will feel pleasure in passing water. You will know that you are getting near the hotel, because you will go round the bend. The manager will await you in the entrance hall. He always tries to have intercourse with all new guests.

The Hotel:
This is a family hotel, so children are very welcome. We of course are always pleased to accept adultery. Highly skilled nurses are available in the evenings to put down your children. Guests are invited to conjugate in the bar and expose themselves to others. But please note that ladies are not allowed to have babies in the bar. We organize social games, so no guest is ever left alone to play with them self.

The Restaurant:
Our menus have been carefully chosen to be ordinary and unexciting. At dinner, our quartet will circulate from table to table, and fiddle with you.

Your Room:
Every room has excellent facilities for your private parts. In winter, every room is on heat. Each room has a balcony offering views of outstanding obscenity! .. You will not be disturbed by traffic noise, since the road between the hotel and the lake is used only by pederasts.

Bed:
Your bed has been made in accordance with local tradition. If you have any other ideas please ring for the chambermaid. Please take advantage of her. She will be very pleased to squash your shirts, blouses and underwear. If asked, she will also squeeze your trousers.

Above All:
When you leave us at the end of your holiday, you will have no hope. You will struggle to forget it."

 Can't wait to visit! ;D

Wife and I booked a tour in China at the end of my work period. We were to stay at a 4 star hotel in Chengdu for 3 nights.
Car picked us up at the airport and drove us to the hotel.
I looked out the window as we pulled up and burst out laughing.
The hotel was called The Caesarean Hotel.
The Chinese love to name things after famous sites and periods in history but this took the cake.
But, it must be said, the hotel was excellent and the food awesome.

How funny is that?
It is cheaper to register a trailer(nsw) for 4x 3 months, than it is for a year.
Still cheaper to register it for 2x 6 months, then for one year. How does that work?

As a Victorian, does the 4 x 3 month period include a road worthy inspection on every renewal as well though?

In NSW, Box trailer, un braked, under 750kg(I think), doesn't need a road worthy.

Nor in Vic,

I was thinking more on the van, the camper trailer, boat trailer etc.

In Vic braked - 5x7, camper trailer & van all the same price $ 64.94 (in Mar) this year but indexed mid year.

Saw this on another forum where we were discussing lack of driving skills, poor attitudes & so on.

"I saw one road rage driver get done.

I was stopped in the left hand lane at traffic lights, saw a car stop at an amber light and then saw another car come flying over the hill and smash into the stationary car. He reversed and went round the car on the wrong side of the road and through a red light and stopped in my lane on the other side of the lights and blocked the car including me.

A big gorilla got out of the car with a bright red face and waving arms in a threatening manner whilst swearing at the driver for stopping at a an orange light. Just as he got to the front of the car the doors open and 2 huge Tactical Response Police officers got out of their unmarked car. I watched as the blood drained from his face.

The Police arrested him, and also asked for my details so if needed I could be a witness, but I never heard from them.
