Smoke Detectors
« on: July 23, 2014, 04:18:27 PM »
Hopefully we all have smoke detectors fitted at home . & hopefully we have changed the batteries so they are fresh for the cooler months , & we have tested the beeping . But have we checked the age of the units  ??? lf its over 10 years old it should be replaced as its come to the end of its working life . Check the date of manufacture or use by this is located close to the battery holder . The unit may still beep & do all the right things but still chuck it out & replace it .
The useful life is 10 years & if push comes to shove the insurance Co might get a bit iffy should they have to pay out . Just something to check up on
