Re-assessment of priorities
« on: December 05, 2010, 09:51:26 AM »
Hi all ;D Just thought I'd introduce myself to you all I'm 44, a dude, married with a 13 yo daughter and the last 12 months have by far been the worst of my life  :'(, which sucks, however the one good thing to come out of it was a total re-assessment of my life and my priorities.  I once used to regularly go camping, fishing and traveling around this AMAZING place of OZ and before I knew it I didn't care about anyone or anything and was sucked down into a very dark place >:D. After waking up to myself with the help of wife and daughter who lit up the dark I've chopped up my business to allow much holiday time, decided (after 2 months of solid research) to purchase a KK Platinum and get back to making tracks around this Great patch of dirt we live on. You guys on this site are the type of people I can relate to and I hope I get to cross paths or make tracks with some of you. My new life starts..............................NOW ;D

G'day Ferret and welcome aboard mate.

Mate, many of us have been in that dark place you speak of. For me, it lasted nearly 20 years.

Like you, I am re-discovering the joys of the simple things, ie camping and fishing etc and just getting back into the process of living and enjoying life.

Congrats on the purchase of the Ct. You will never regret it.

Cheers,
Mick

Welcome to the forum Ferret.  Had a little reassessment ourselves recently - that's how we ended up with our CT.

Hope to meet up on the road one day!

Welcome to the forum.  I think we all have to look at ourselves sooner or later and work out just where we are at.  Hope we have a beer one day.

For me there is no better therapy than just getting out there and getting back to the simple things in life and having the family to enjoy it with.

Thanks for sharing and i hope it all goes well for you guys.

Hi LJ, I have a courier/distribution business and I tried to take time off but it's very hard to find employees who you can trust so I found that if I did try to go away I would spend too much time worrying therefore defeating the purpose of a holiday so I cut loose half of my customer base and have a very trusted fellow to look after things for me while I am away....I found it very difficult to take these steps but once I made the changes it was like I was walking on a cushion of air and that someone had lifted an anvil off my chest! I understand that not everyone is in a position to make such big life changes but I think sometimes you need to take a chance otherwise before you know it you've spent too many years being unhappy for the sake of long term goals and life has passed you by!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's a clique' but life is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too short

G'day ferret, and welcome. A reassessment of priorities that includes more time doing the stuff you love HAS to be a step in the right direction!

There's no therapy quite like the bush, the beach, the camper, the fire, the stars and the people you love. Beats any counsellor or psych and half the price.

Enjoy!
