Very proud of myself  ;D.I was given a Ryobi pressure cleaner which worked but the hand piece had a split in the tube from the fitting to the lance within the handle. after a few failed attempts at repairs, ??? I had borrowed a mates Gerni pressure cleaner and found that the lance fitted the Ryobi ( the big green shop sells machines not parts), After a few months of procrastination I finally dropped by the Gerni dealers shop,$45 later and a little trimming of the pressure hose sheath and I have a fully functional pressure cleaner :cup:

Gave the shed an overdue clean out.A tray of rubbish to the tip,and a wooden bin for the scrappy next week.Now the cruiser will sleep inside again.It's hard to throw some stuff out,knowing full well I'll want it  for something in a month or so.

Spent most of the day running wires in my pop top. It really is an awful job as the fridge had to come out to do this but I have my inverter mounted, some network cable run for the solar controller remote display, three wires for a remote switch to turn the inverter on and two extension leads with one end cut off run to where I will mount the power points. One by the microwave and one by the toaster.

I ran out of conduit so I had to fit up an inverter in my neighbours caravan as bought a 600 W version of my inverter. He had told me I could use the surplus conduit on the roll I told him to get. Half an hour of electrical work of course turned into about 1.5 hours when yarn time was included.

Yes I will do this on a separate thread or in my buildup if I can find it again. I need time to take some pics. I am hoping I will get the electrics completed tomorrow so I will be ready to take some pics.

Fitted a flat 12 pin socket to the rear of the Jackaroo.
As the existing round 7 pin was a Narva with the metal body (German mfg.) with 2 'indents' at the bottom for wiring access, I left it in place and ran additional wiring to the flat pin from the round plug.
Will run 6B&S to 4 of the 5 'fat' pins, to match the plug on the Heaslip.
Will also be fitting an Anderson plug on the opposite (LHS) of the tow bar, to connect compressor / and tug to trailer while camped.

Made up a chain guard for my Daughters Quad. A Kitty Litter tray (clean and empty) found at the back of the shelf was perfect. Seeing as she decided not to ride, the 4 1/2 year Old Prodigy Son decided to do donuts in the backyard. Kids got talent. Then bought a clean and tidy 44 Gallon Drum and 3 hot plates for $20 from some Bloke and decided to make me a big wood fire bbq, using an old 4 burner bbq as a base.

I was that engrossed in both projects, I only managed 2 beers in 6 hours. Now I'm making up for it. :cheers:

My son's Hilux is getting in the way of my mods on our 100 series Landcruiser so this weekend we fitted his dual battery system, solar input and 3 x Din plugs for lights, fridges etc.,  It was a whole day job but now I can get back to my 4x4  ;D

Thanks to Jetcrew for helping with the parts and prompt delivery so that we were able to finish the job this weekend  :cheers:

After 2 days of hard work over the weekend, it is finally taking shape.

My Inverter under the seat (still not live)


You can see 12 volt leads entering from floor on right and the power point and remote switch leads on left (switch  in black conduit)

First power point for toaster :) Note neon light that should light when inverter is powered up.

Note remote switch for inverter to left of power point. I also fitted the Tracer MPPT solar controller remote console which required crimping on some RJ45 connectors to the Cat  6 cable I ran.

So if this all works, the switch will have a LED light that turns on when the inveter is turned on. I still have to finish the 12 volt wiring under the van :(

My son and I pulled a 9" diff from an old LTD and put it into a 71 fairlane,

One minute you have 8 1/2 in diff and drum brakes and the next a 9" and discs  :cup: :cup:

Did the same to my 69 XW Fairmont
Threw under it a disc braked 9" LSD 2.75 from a Landau LTD.
I think the only thing I had to modify was the Handbrake cable ends to fit the Disc brake handbrake mechanism.

Serviced the wheels and brakes of my Bloke Trailer I built eons ago. Started making a bad noise a few weeks ago, got real bad sat morning so bugger it.
Turned out the caliper slide for the mechanical overide disc brakes was seized and nothing else wrong, Sweet.
Then knocked of and played silly dad in the pool with the kids.   ;D

Over this weekend I have been taking my trailers out the front in the hope to sell them.
I have been just winding the jockey wheels up as its only a q00m to the road but down one dip. If I go  wide its fine, today I cut the corner and broke off one of the jockey wheel clamp on that trailer..

So had to find another and weld it on, this time making sure its welded top and bottom etc.

what a pain, I usually tell everyone to take their jockey wheels off so they don't damage them. well I didnt do it and it happened to me .. bummer..

20mins later and its all good again.

Finally replaced the Hubs, discs and coupling on the boat trailer.
Took them off on Satuday and bought all the gear this morning and replaced the bits after work today,just need to fix the trailer wiring and all done.
Ready to sell the boat.

trying to make a spare wheel holder for a client for his trailer. it needs to be removable and I am trying to use the same size wheel nuts as to what he has already, so I have been tapping new threads, welding stripping down parts off the trailer contemplating just flipping the trailer and welding on a new "A" frame, which will mean the spare wheel holder and his tool box will both fit and making them removable easier.

I also sold one of my trailers today that was out the front, so that sale took a while......

I did the same to my '76 XB.

Had to go back and get the master cylinder as well, 'cos it locked the rears too easily....
