Does anyone else read through their own old trip reports?
« on: June 19, 2022, 10:13:04 PM »
After fishing through an old trip report to find a photo of BigJules splitting wood to put in another thread, I just spent an enjoyable half hour or so reading through my entire trip report from our journey to the 2011 National Meet in Wilmington, SA - it was the very first National Meet Myswag.org had ever had.

This brings me to my question - do any of you read through your old trip reports and reminisce?

Oh...if anyone wants to have a squiz - my trip report can be found HERE. It was my first ever report…

Quite often the photos on my home storage don't get looked at and it's easy to forget when and where things happened.

I check them out on here and dates/descriptions help bring back memories. Usually when I am after some info for a mate or something triggers in my head!!

Also go through others when planning a trip or just for ideas where to go.

Yes I do , Makes it easy for me to post up events that I have been running over the past ten years , I can look at who was there , helps with sending out PMs for events . I use cut/paste , saves doing the same thing over and over . And I use past photos

Hi,
My brother used to print my emails from Random Roadside Ramblings for Mum to read as screens were too confusing for her.
I have a few A4 folders full of memories.
I should reformat them in Open Office and have them printed and bound.
Cheers

Hi,
Well over due I feel. At last we no longer have to transit Melbourne and those terrifying freeways now the ferry will be docking in Geelong.
May be a Wimmera Wandering next year, definitely nothing tropical after our Kimberly experience.
Cheers

Hi,
Yep, locked and loaded into the Garmin already.
I would like to roll that in with a Wimmera River descent somehow.
