Yea I race a little Gemini at the brissy jamboree last few years, made the finals in my class twice, only a high 14sec car but very consistent! Been goin to jamboree as a spectator since the early 90's, and currently building a faster rotary powered Gemini to step up things a bit, I run gemwreck so everyday involves working on or supplying gem parts to people!

2010 TTD Landcruiser, i have added stuff but can't remember what! Slowly gettin quicker at setting up the brumby but breaking camp is another matter....

Do you remember the year, 93 I think, a white V8 Datsun 1200 snuck into the fast fours and rotaries...  ;D

Geez, didn't that put a cat amongst the pigeons.

Shane I guess these days you drink Jim Beam?!
yes I have a done a tiny little bit of 'street-class' stuff during the 1990s and once earlier this year
... when I get a bit more free time I will do it more regularly and get into the 13s :)
I'm lucky as I do other motorsport too

Hey GeeTee,

Noticed the bold writing on the front "Engine by Stan Pobjoy" I used to be involved with a couple that did hill climbs events. We would drive all over the state in their street legal VW Beetle that ran mid 13's from memory when they put it on the drag strip. It was a Pobjoy engine in that one as well. Mighty quick car that one. I drove an event with them up at Raymond Terrace one year. Scared the living daylights out of me the power this Beetle had.

Not sure if its still getting around. Last I heard they were rebuilding it after Dave rolled it 3 times at Raymond Terrace during a hill climb event. But that was about 15yrs ago and I have lost touch since.

Cheers

I posted here a while ago a link to a fuel car fuel pump. Here's the ignition.  :D
This one's a 44amp mag. I haven't been hit by one of these, but have by a 20amp. It's a good idea to take a piss before adjusting a mag, just in case it gets you.   ;D

I'm still trying to sort that Camaro. Haven't been down the track in almost 12 months, so it's not real sorted  ;D

We're taking a Buick and Monarc also.

Only managed one pass under power to the end. Still some sorting with the fuel system to do.

Coughed and spluttered to a 7.80 @ 170. The rest of the passes were abborted around half track, mostly due to driver error.  ::)

We ran three cars and the best pass of the weekend for us, I thought anyhow, was a HK Monaro we ran, full street trim, full exhaust, pump fuel small block, peeled off a 10.78 @ 126mph.  ;D

Shane, in the pic, you seem to be a fair distance out of the hole. (gave me a bit of a chubby too seeing that)

My advice, more preload in the right hand side wouldn't go astray or try a shock adjustment, but you know the trick, try only one at a time.
In the 34 Ford I drove for Bob, in the end, we took the shocks out and fitted a solid steel bar in their place and then just worked on the preload.

Oh, by the way, we use to run the same wheelie bar style, but in the end, went for the single wheel crane jib hanging off the bum as well.
A duel wheel style pram handles do suit the nostalgias better however.

Hey, that would be the quickest you've gone too I think, so congrates.

Thanks, yes it is the quickest and fastest I've run.

That pic is of one of the worst passes. That was the second wheel stand on that run. I was out of the groove, the tyres had a little shake quiver, and things went from Shit to worse real quick.  60' was a 1.45  :-[ it didn't land well.  http://www.dragphotos.com.au/p1010705227/h2e8f644c#h287d6c62

Next pass, I had my Shit in a pile and made no changes to the car at all. Just carried the tyres a little with a 1.17 60'. It usually leaves reasonably well, when the idiot behind the wheel does what he's meant too.   ::)

Yeah, I think a little bit of wee came out on that pass. Not sure if it was because I was scared, or excited. ;D

Hell, adult nappies are fine for those who suffer bladder leakage during a wheelstand.

Nice wheelie Shane!

Pretty excited about this:

We're getting our own proper track up here on the tablelands - will have to make time to get out there once it gets up and running. I've got nothing to race, but I'd like to go along and support the venue as a spectator. It'll be excellent for the whole Far North region to have a local track again.

Cheers,
Matto :)

This is my mates car. Runs a 421 Chev & glide. 700hp at the fly. Runs 9.9's all day. Nearly finished plumbing a shot of gas into it. Starting with a 75-100hp shot and going from there.

2015 Mitsi Pajero. Dobbo MRR Lift, ARB Bar, MM4X4 Lock Up Mate, Intervolt DC Pro DBS, 12,000lb Mako winch. Bla Bla Bla.

96 80 Series. Lots of mods, not enough wheeling. - Gone but not forgotten.
