For those that don't know the story, for the last 3 National Meets, as part of fundraising, a $5- note has been auctioned off, in order to raise needed funds to pay the server costs, to keep this MYSWAG community going.

Qwirky I know.....

The $5- note was provided by KingBilly at the Nymboida NSW meet in 2013. Brett signed the note and up it went for auction. "GEOFFA" from VIC won the very first auction, and then kindly proceeded to set it up as a perpetual item.
The second year, at the QLD Rainbow Beach National Meet in 2015, JK, after some vicious and determined (alcohol induced) bidding, took the honour.
This year, at the VIC Mansfield National Meet, I was lucky enough, as a Queenslander, after some VERY vicious bidding, name calling, threats, and other things, took the honour and now have my name on the award.

For those that haven't seen it, I have attached a photo of what it looks like. Proudly hanging in my Games room.

Needless to say, that we now have had 2 Qld'ers  ;D and 1 Victorian that have held the award.

Maybe some of the other states, for the 2019 meet, should consider how they are going to get a name, forever,  onto the board.  ;D

Caught up with Mark and Kerry this arvo and picked up the famous $5 note. Really great catching up with them and they are a bit devo that they could make this one, although Kerry was still throwing options as to how they could still attend !!

Anyhow will have it at Rawnsley on Easter Friday plus Steve's scotch for the auction.

Oh and by the way the famous 5 has been rather busy "breeding" and making more!!!

Thanks for picking up matey......
I am not sure how the 'other' $5 note got into the Games room to start the breeding process off....

It was in Vic for a brief year, but has been in QLD for the rest...be nice to make it a hat trick...(or if nothing else, keep Scotty and Speewa out of it  ;D)

Really hating not going.  >:(

Hi Guy's,

I'm new to all of this, but it seems only fitting that it go to a local. As it is in our backyard.
So I've saved all my pocket money, cashed in my cans and bottles, had to do 2 trips  :-[ ( no I don't have a drinking problem. )
So it wont have to far travel staying in south aus :cup: :cup:

Cheers

Leighton

If its anything like at Mansfield you better do some more trips with Speewas cans prior to the auction. Last count was pretty high when the hammer fell, I was almost in bug trouble from the better half  ;D

I'm might have to do some serious drinking over the next week then. To make  sure I can be in the mix.
It's all for a good cause. Will have to consult with the financial officer/boss to see what my limits are ;D, I can get a bit carried away sometimes after a few beers

I am going to miss the auction but I am sure John will do a far better job with his professional auctioneering skills.

Good luck to all the bidders.  Who would have thought a five dollar note could have raised so much money for such a worthy cause.

Be careful about the “better half”.....it was her that kept egging me on....especially against Speewa and Scotty...

Just curious how ya got your nick name???
When it comes to drinking I don't need any encouragement or lessons.
